Job Summary
The Tax Manager will support corporate tax compliance, planning, and reporting, working closely with the Group Head of Taxation to ensure accurate tax filings, statutory adherence, and audit support for the Singapore office.
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate Pillar 2 tax filing for the group to ensure compliance with international tax regulations
- Manage preparation and review of Income Tax and GST tax returns with company's tax agents to guarantee accuracy and timeliness
- Ensure timely filing of tax returns and payment of tax liabilities to meet statutory deadlines
- Collaborate with various subsidiaries to address and resolve tax compliance matters effectively
- Liaise with statutory and internal auditors on tax-related issues to facilitate smooth audit processes
- Assist in structuring new projects and acquisitions by identifying tax-saving opportunities and optimizing tax positions
- Coordinate transfer pricing documentation and compliance activities with company's tax agents to meet regulatory requirements
- Manage preparation and submission of tax exemption applications to Singapore tax authorities to secure applicable benefits
- Facilitate communication with Singapore tax authorities and ensure timely responses to all correspondence with support from tax agents
- Coordinate tax ruling applications with Singapore and other tax authorities as needed to clarify tax positions
- Support tax provisioning and deferred tax calculations for financial statements to ensure accurate financial reporting
- Maintain proper documentation and record-keeping for all tax matters to support compliance and audit readiness
Required competencies and certifications
- Strong knowledge of Income Tax and GST/VAT to apply tax laws accurately in compliance and planning activities
- Proficiency in MS Excel and tax/accounting software (SAP, Tally, etc.) to manage tax data and reporting efficiently
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- CPA/CA or equivalent professional qualification preferred to demonstrate professional tax expertise
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Commerce, Finance, or Accounting to provide foundational knowledge in taxation and finance
- 8-10 years of total work experience, including 3-5 years of relevant taxation experience in industry or consulting to ensure practical tax management skills
- Prior training and exposure to Pillar 2 framework
