The Chemical Engineering program is accredited by ABET which ensures that the program meets the standards and quality needed by the Chemical engineering profession and industry.

Job Description

The Department of Chemical Engineering has an opening for a teaching assistant position. The Department invites candidates to become engaged in an interactive and collaborative teaching environment.

Candidates are expected to discuss various ideas, applications, and problems, and explain the concepts discussed in lectures, by challenging and motivating students. They are expected to assist with the various projects and assignments that students work on in labs and tutorials. The responsibilities of the position include

.Conducting tutorials and labs as required by instructors.

.Support for students through the use of a wide range of learning resources and various teaching practices.

.Interacting with the students during office hours both face-to-face and online, using discussion groups and other tools on the online teaching platform.

.The ability to support the teaching of theoretical and practical courses both in-class and online.

.Grading assignments, quizzes, and lab reports as required by the instructor.

.Participating in academic and exam support duties, including proctoring.

.Helping in developing and customizing software systems used in the department (like Aspen Plus and Matlab).

.Performing other administrative duties as assigned by the upper administration.

.Submitting a yearly progress report with his/her achievements for evaluation.

4.Copy of highest earned credential (transcript of highest degree if graduated from an institution where course work was completed. However, if no coursework was completed, and copy of the certificate letter from the registrar of your highest credential granting institution regarding your highest academic degree).

5.A document describing your prior experience and key responsibilities in teaching Chemical Engineering courses and labs.

6.Any additional documentation that you feel is relevant to your application.
