Team Leader, NG Operations

Job Purpose

To lead, direct and manage activities of CNG & Hydrogen Operations department ensuring safe, economic,
smooth and timely distribution, availability and supply of CNG to ADNOC service stations and customer sites
throughout the UAE. Ensures effective utilization of company resources (manpower, equipment), inventory
control, quality control and safe handling of equipment and products

Job Specific Accountabilities

CNG Operations Management
u2022 Manage, leads and monitors the CNG & Hydrogen operations on the daily assigned tasks in addition
to imparting the required training & mentoring for the team members.
u2022 Plans, directs, co-ordinates and supervises the operational activities and assigned personnel. Performs
management functions at the level established by Senior Management
u2022 Manages the Gas Purchase Agreements (GSA) with the main gas suppliers including joint meter
reading, GRNu2019s and calibration of custody transfer equipment.
u2022 Oversee and lead liaising with Gas suppliers to ensure availability of products as per requirements.
Ensures quality of product is as per ADNOC distribution guidelines.
u2022 Reviewing daily CNG & Hydrogen operations to ensure that product storage, receipts and deliveries by
pipeline, are accomplished efficiently, product stock loss/gain is maintained within the agreed limits,
and daily inventory analysis and reporting for CNG stocks, consumables, spares for plant & equipment
etc are carried out on timely basis.
u2022 Develop, lead, manage, maintain and implement CNG & Hydrogen Operations Standards, Procedures
and Specifications of all operational activities ensuring that latest approved technologies in line with
best industry practices are applied and compliance with international standards and established
Company procedures, guidelines and regulations.
u2022 Ensures all safety precautions are taken and PTW procedures are followed before the commencement
of the work and the instructions are rigidly adhered to during all stages of the work at CNG Stations.

Job Specific Accountabilities2

Remains fully conversant will all international developments in the field of Natural Gas, CNG technology
and CNG Trailers Operations. Investigate, identify, and evaluate, benchmark and implements best
practice in Natural Gas business.
u2022 Provided technical support and training to supervisor and Operator for safe operation of CNG &
Hydrogen stations
Equipment Maintenance
u2022 Approve maintenance and shutdown of the CNG & Hydrogen plants & fuelling stations ensure that
approved maintenance procedures are followed by the concerned department in maintaining plant &
equipment to ensure their operational reliability, availability and optimizing facility utilization for the
business requirements of ADNOC Distribution.
u2022 Review all operation and maintenance projects to ensure planning, organization and supervision, verify
the completeness and ensure that facilities delivered are safe, reliable in view of different natures,
diversity of each system, equipment & facilities and the complexity of the technology involved.
Expansion and New Projects
u2022 Responsible for up-gradation & development of Companyu2019s infrastructure and existing CNG & Hydrogen
facilities. Identifying & communicating the needs to Head Office for modifications and/or improvements
to the CNG Operations facilities and review modifications, expansion projects, project costing etc.
u2022 Coordinates and follow up with EPD on the progress of any new projects concerning the CNG
Operations & Hydrogen Department and ensure that all the necessary support is provided at location
for their timely completion.
u2022 Ensures proper commissioning of New Equipment and re-commissioning of Overhauled / Repaired
Equipment in time to minimise downtime of equipment.
u2022 Participate in projects reviews like HAZOP, HSEIA, HAZID and Risk Assessment etc as and when
required.
Contractor Management
u2022 Monitor the quality and progress of work performed by the Contractor to ensure that work is completed
as per Company policies for technical, safety, quality and environment are correctly addressed. Identify
the bottlenecks and recommend corrective action to ensure smooth and timely completion of the project
at optimum cost.
u2022 Evaluate potential contractor and suppliers and their services for the various CNG & Hydrogen services
as required.
Distribution Management
u2022 Oversee the overall process of distribution planning and management to ensure prompt delivery of
products to service stations and bulk customers as per requirements in coordination with Sales, Regions
divisions, including preparation of daily distribution program, timely delivery and adherence to delivery
schedule, clearance of any pending/ urgent deliveries etc.
u2022 Acts as Authorizing Engineer for the CNG stations and CNG Trailers operations and maintenance
related activities and participates in the development of non-routine live gas operations procedures and
provide support during emergency response situations.
u2022 Participates in Emergency and Incident Standby as a key team member. Ensures effective accident
investigation and follow-ups for action and recommendation timely closeout.
u2022 Attends and participates Project and Engineering related meetings as required.
Performance monitoring, control and optimization
u2022 Monitors the budget and continuously reviews manpower and operating expenses of CNG operations,
transportation costs, inventory losses etc.
u2022 Continuously reviews the various cost elements/ heads and develop & drive initiatives for increasing
productivity, reducing the overall cost of operations.

u2022 Organizes and manages Operations audits as required to ensure compliance with requirements and
incorporate approved recommendations.
Others
u2022 Reviews and propose Change of Management recommendation to senior management for approval
and Implementation.
u2022 Liaising with statutory bodies such as Civil Defence, ESMA etc.

Minimum Qualification

Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Electrical/Mechanical or in any related discipline.

Minimum Experience, Knowledge & Skills

u2022 u00A0 u00A010-12 years of experience in CNG plant operations and maintenance role, including 3-4 years in
managerial responsibilities.
u2022u00A0u00A0 u00A0Good working knowledge of Computers.
u2022u00A0u00A0 u00A0Good Leadership and Interpersonal skills.
u2022u00A0u00A0 u00A0High Problem solving and decision making ability.
u2022u00A0u00A0 u00A0Effective planning and organization capabilities.
u2022u00A0u00A0 u00A0Good knowledge of English language. Arabic language will be a positive advantage.
