The Tech Design Director will lead the design technology strategy for a landmark luxury development project in Riyadh. This role oversees the integration of advanced architectural design tools, digital design workflows, and coordination across architectural, engineering, and project delivery teams. The ideal candidate is a qualified architect with a strong portfolio in luxury hospitality or high-end mixed-use developments, and extensive expertise in digital design technologies. The role ensures design excellence, technical precision, and best-in-class coordination throughout all project stages.
Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic & Leadership Responsibilities- Define and lead the project's design technology vision, standards, and digital transformation roadmap.
- Provide strategic direction on design tools, BIM platforms, digital workflows, and collaborative design systems.
- Lead and mentor multidisciplinary design teams to ensure smooth integration of technology into design processes.
- Ensure all design technology decisions align with project goals, luxury standards, and overall development strategy.
Technical & Design Responsibilities- Oversee BIM management, digital design coordination, and the implementation of advanced modeling tools.
- Lead and manage the integration of architectural, structural, MEP, and specialist design packages into unified digital environments.
- Ensure design accuracy, compliance with project specifications, and adherence to luxury hospitality design standards.
- Conduct design reviews, resolve technical conflicts, and ensure efficient data flow across project stakeholders.
- Support the development of detailed design guidelines, digital standards, and project templates.
- Ensure all digital design outputs meet the expected quality, technical precision, and project timelines.
Cross-Functional & Stakeholder Management- Collaborate with architects, consultants, project managers, and contractors to streamline design communication and coordination.
- Support tendering and procurement processes by ensuring accurate digital documentation, specifications, and design data.
- Liaise with external consultants, technology vendors, and specialist design teams to incorporate the latest innovations.
- Provide clear technical guidance and solutions to leadership and project stakeholders.
Job RequirementsEducational Requirements- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture.
- Additional certifications in BIM, digital design, or design technology preferred.
Professional Experience- Minimum 12+ years of experience in architectural design, digital design management, or design technology leadership.
- Must be a qualified Architect with proven experience in luxury hospitality, high-end resorts, luxury mixed-use developments, or premium real estate projects.
- Experience working on major capital or giga-projects is highly preferred.
- Strong background in BIM platforms (Revit, Navisworks, etc.), digital coordination, and collaborative design workflows.
