Technical BIM Engineer - Electrical (Construction)

Role Description:

The Technical BIM Electrical is responsible for developing, maintaining, and coordinating electrical BIM models and construction documentation through BIM workflows. The role focuses on accurate electrical model authoring, construction detailing, model quality, and multidisciplinary coordination, ensuring that deliverables comply with project requirements, electrical design intent, site conditions, construction methodology, and approved BIM standards.

Responsibilities:

1. Model Authoring & Parametric Development

• Develop and maintain Electrical BIM models in Autodesk Revit in accordance with project requirements, BIM standards, BEP, and required LOD.
• Develop and manage parametric families, model elements, and associated information in line with project standards.
• Apply Electrical construction knowledge to support accurate and technically coordinated model development.
• Maintain organized and up-to-date WIP models for coordination and review.

2. Drawing Extraction & Construction Detailing

• Extract and produce accurate GFC drawings from coordinated BIM models.
• Prepare and maintain Revit documentation, including dimensions, annotations, details, schedules, and related information.
• Incorporate approved design changes, RFIs, technical comments, and coordination updates into drawings.
• Ensure GFC drawings comply with project requirements, specifications, standards, and approved typical details.
• Deliver drawing packages within the required submission deadlines.

3. Model Maintenance & Quality Assurance

• Maintain BIM models and associated information throughout the project lifecycle.
• Perform quality checks on models, drawings, and documentation to identify and resolve errors or inconsistencies.
• Ensure model development, information, and documentation comply with the required LOD and project standards.
• Verify the accuracy and quality of GFC drawings and model deliverables prior to submission and approval.
• Sizing of tray / trucking ,Preparation of Builders works ,
• identifying Design discrepancies and raising concerns to the TE
• Knowledge on construction methodology to ensure the developed mode is good enough to construct
• Selection of breakers / controls based on the material submittal

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum of 6+ years of relevant experience in the construction industry.
• Previous experience working with construction or contracting companies is mandatory.
• Relevant experience in electrical design and drafting.
• Proven experience as an Electrical BIM Modeler or Revit Electrical Modeler on construction projects.

Technical Requirements

• Strong proficiency in Autodesk Revit for electrical BIM modeling and construction documentation.
• Strong understanding of electrical construction technology, construction methodologies, site execution, and materials.
• Good working knowledge of Autodesk Navisworks and AutoCAD.
• Ability to read, interpret, and understand electrical design and construction drawings.
• Experience working with coordinated BIM models within contractor or construction environments.
• Experience using BIM 360 / Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC).
• Strong understanding of BIM coordination and clash detection.
• UAE/GCC construction experience will be an advantage.
