Job Description

About the Role:

In this role, you will provide technical guidance for vendor readiness to meet Gap Inc. Technical Design (TD) requirements such as garment construction, fitting, and grading, to deliver products that meet brand requirements. You will support vendor capability building, contribute to fit and construction risk management, and partner with other vendor and Gap Inc technical teams to resolve production issues, ensuring consistency and alignment with corporate and brand standards.

What You'll Do:

  • Become a subject matter expert on all Gap Inc. brand requirements and continuously stay updated on brands standards, processes, and expectations.
  • Validate vendor fit and construction capability by onboarding new vendors to Gap Inc. TD standards and providing ongoing technical design guidance, and training, for new initiatives, processes, and TD best practices under the accountable vendor model.
  • Guide vendors with clear technical direction to ensure garments meet brand requirements for fit, construction, measurement, and safety.
  • Evaluate development and pre-production samples, as necessary, providing feedback to resolve discrepancies and secure alignment with corporate and brand standards.
  • Partner with vendor and Gap Inc cross-functional teams (Product Quality Assurance, Product Development, Product Integrity, Regional Operations) to identify and mitigate fit, construction, and safety risks during product development and production, as necessary.
  • Work at vendor's location in Egypt.

Who You Are:

  • Strong technical design expertise with sound knowledge of garment fit, construction, pattern making, grading, and manufacturing processes.
  • Experienced in fit evaluation, with the ability to identify issues and clearly explain pattern corrections to vendors.
  • Demonstrated ability to support the accountable vendor model through training, onboarding, and capability building.
  • Collaborative partner with proven ability to influence and build alignment across cross-functional teams and vendors.
  • Strong problem solver, able to anticipate risks and proactively recommend solutions.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Working knowledge of 2D pattern systems (Optitex) and digital product creation (CLO) preferred.
  • Effective communicator in English, with strong interpersonal skills to work across cultures and functions.
  • Degree in textiles, fashion, or related discipline preferred.
