Technical Engineer / Coordinator – Joinery

We are looking for an experienced Technical Engineer / Coordinator – Joinery to join our team and manage the technical coordination and documentation of joinery and interior fit-out projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Review architectural, interior design, tender, and construction drawings to understand project requirements.
• Prepare, review, and coordinate joinery shop drawings, detailed drawings, sections, elevations, and construction details.
• Develop accurate technical drawings and details for custom joinery works, including doors, wardrobes, kitchens, wall paneling, reception counters, vanities, cabinets, feature walls, and bespoke furniture.
• Coordinate joinery designs with architectural, MEP, lighting, structural, and other specialist requirements.
• Ensure all shop drawings are prepared in accordance with approved designs, specifications, materials, and site conditions.
• Coordinate with designers, project managers, site engineers, production teams, procurement, suppliers, and subcontractors.
• Conduct site measurements and verify site conditions before finalizing joinery drawings.
• Identify discrepancies and technical issues between drawings and actual site conditions and propose practical solutions.
• Prepare and follow up on material submittals, samples, technical submissions, RFIs, and drawing approvals.
• Coordinate approved drawings with the factory/production team to ensure accurate manufacturing and installation.
• Review production drawings and cutting/details to ensure compliance with approved shop drawings and project requirements.
• Coordinate with procurement to ensure selected materials, hardware, finishes, and accessories comply with approved specifications.
• Provide technical support to the site and production teams during fabrication and installation.
• Conduct site visits to monitor joinery installation and resolve technical issues when required.
• Prepare and maintain proper records of drawing revisions, approvals, technical submissions, site measurements, and project documentation.
• Ensure all technical documents are issued and updated according to project schedules.
• Assist in resolving design, fabrication, and installation challenges while maintaining quality and project timelines.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree/diploma in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Interior Design, or a related field.
• Proven experience in joinery, bespoke furniture, interior fit-out, or woodworking projects.
• Strong knowledge of joinery construction methods, materials, finishes, hardware, and installation techniques.
• Excellent understanding of joinery shop drawings and technical detailing.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD is essential; knowledge of SketchUp, Revit, 3D modeling, or other design software is an advantage.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and interior design drawings.
• Good knowledge of materials such as MDF, plywood, veneer, laminate, solid wood, acrylic, glass, metal, and associated hardware/accessories.
• Strong coordination and communication skills.
• Good understanding of manufacturing and installation processes.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• UAE/GCC joinery and fit-out project experience is preferred.
