Job Role:

The ID Technical Manager role is to bridge the gap between design creativity and technical execution. The ID Technical Manager shall oversee the technical aspects of our interior design projects, ensuring that the designs are feasible, functional, and comply with relevant codes and standards. The role requires a combination of design knowledge, project management skills, technical expertise, and leadership abilities.

Job Responsibilities:

  • The ID Technical Manager - Special projects shall be responsible for project technical coordination, management, and ensuring the successful delivery of interior design projects from design development through construction completion.
  • Coordinate with the technical design team, including designers, BIM specialists, draftsmen, and technical staff, to ensure that the interior design process runs efficiently and that technical deliverables meet project requirements.
  • Coordinate between design intent and project execution, ensuring technical solutions, construction methodologies, detailing, and value engineering align with the approved conceptual design while maintaining design quality and operational requirements.
  • Oversee the preparation, review, and coordination of technical documentation, ensuring that all drawings, specifications, schedules, details, material information, and FF&E documentation are accurate, complete, coordinated, and issued within the required timelines.
  • Review and approve design documents, drawings, specifications, technical submissions, material selections, and mock-ups, ensuring compliance with project requirements, applicable codes, standards, regulations, quality expectations, and approved design intent.
  • Provide technical review and guidance on GA drawings, RCPs, elevations, sections, details, schedules, and construction documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, constructability, and consistency with the approved design vision.
  • Demonstrate strong technical knowledge of interior construction, including bespoke joinery, millwork, FF&E integration, material applications, finishes, detailing requirements, and coordination with specialist consultants, ensuring designs are practical, coordinated, and buildable.
  • Review and comment on shop drawings, material submittals, samples, mock-ups, and technical submissions to ensure compliance with approved design intent, specifications, quality standards, operational requirements, and construction requirements.
  • Conduct technical analysis, feasibility studies, and technical assessments of proposed designs to ensure solutions are achievable within project constraints, including budget, programme, materials, construction methodologies, and long-term operational performance.
  • Address and resolve technical issues arising during design development and construction, providing practical solutions while maintaining design integrity, quality, compliance, and project objectives.
  • Coordinate closely with architects, structural engineers, MEP engineers, lighting designers, AV, kitchen, landscape, signage, and other specialist consultants to ensure fully integrated and coordinated design solutions.
  • Lead technical coordination meetings and monitor the resolution of design conflicts, clashes, and technical issues throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure all technical aspects of the design, including material selection, detailing, construction documentation, consultant coordination, and site execution, meet the highest quality standards.
  • Work closely with our joinery and fit-out division, supporting with supervision and detailing solutions when required.
  • Regularly visit project sites to monitor progress, inspect completed works, review technical execution, mock-ups, and material installations, and address any issues impacting design quality or construction requirements.
  • Monitor the construction process to ensure the approved design intent is maintained and correctly implemented in accordance with drawings, specifications, technical standards, and brand requirements.
  • Support the preparation, review, and quality control of DD and IFC packages, ensuring documentation is coordinated, complete, and issued to the highest professional standards.
  • Implement and maintain QA/QC procedures for all technical deliverables, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and compliance with project requirements.
  • Proactively identify project risks related to design, construction, coordination, programme, cost, or quality, and implement mitigation strategies while escalating key issues to leadership.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends, materials, technologies, AI-assisted design tools, digital workflows, and construction methodologies within the interior design and fit-out industry to enhance project delivery.
  • Integrate sustainable design practices and green building requirements into interior design projects where applicable.
  • Assist LDP (Leadership) Office and immediate reporting authority in achieving the Studio's vision as set by the Board/Investors.
  • Devote themselves exclusively to the performance of assigned duties during working hours and, when required, provide additional support to ensure efficient project delivery.
  • Flag risks relating to delays, cost overruns, quality issues, or other project concerns to LDP and immediate reporting authority as soon as they become known.
  • Demonstrate the ability to perform under pressure and deliver high-quality outcomes within tight deadlines.
  • Follow all QA/QC checks and procedures applicable to the scope of work.
  • Maintain advanced proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, InDesign, Photoshop, AI-assisted visualization tools, and other relevant design and documentation software.

Requirements:

  • BS in Design, Interior Design or Architecture
  • Min: 12-15 Years in Interior Design for Residential, Interior Fit-Out, Hospitality, F&B, Retail, Public Spaces, Commercial and Mixed-use projects in UAE/International
  • Computer Literacy : Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, Knowledge of BIM standards (e.g., ISO 19650, PAS 1192) and LOD specifications, Microsoft Office Excel, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office Excel and Blue Beam Revu
