Job Description

Department: Data Insights & Artificial Intelligence, Digital & Technology Platform Services.

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Technical Lead Azure DevOps & Infrastructure to be responsible for building and operating the organization's Data Mesh Platform. The platform is built on Azure and Databricks and enables teams across the company to develop, deploy, and operate data products reliably and at scale. In this role, you will design, implement, and maintain our software development infrastructure, tools, and processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, automation, and Azure cloud technologies.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Technical Expertise

  • Design, build, and evolve CI/CD pipelines and Azure-based data platform environments, with a strong focus on Azure Databricks.
  • Lead infrastructure automation using Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform).
  • Oversee and optimize Azure services, including Databricks and related data platform components (e.g. Data Factory, Data Lake and more).
  • Translate architectural guidelines into practical implementation plans for the team.
  • Ensure platform reliability, security, performance, and cost efficiency.
  • Act as the primary technical point of contact for stakeholders.
  • Support operational stability, incident resolution, and continuous improvement.

People Leadership

  • Partner with the Product Manager to plan, prioritize, and deliver backlog items.
  • Provide technical direction and ownership for the DevOps & Infrastructure team.
  • Mentor engineers and promote engineering best practices across the team.
  • Support onboarding, team development, and growth.
  • Set goals, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance reviews.
  • Foster a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing team environment.

ARE THESE YOUR SECRET INGREDIENTS

Minimum qualifications:

  • 6+ years of experience in DevOps, cloud engineering, or software engineering roles.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Azure cloud services.
  • Proven production experience with Azure Databricks and data platform environments.
  • Deep expertise with Git and Terraform.
  • Strong experience building and evolving CI/CD pipelines using YAML-based systems.
  • Strong understanding of Azure networking and secure cloud connectivity patterns (VNets, subnets, private endpoints).
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
  • Solid understanding of DevOps, DevSecOps, and cloud architecture principles.
  • Experience leading a technical team and managing engineers directly.
  • Strong communication, mentoring, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with Azure Data Factory, Data Lake, or similar data platform services.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Dynatrace, SonarCloud, AquaSecurity, or similar.
  • Azure or Databricks certifications.
  • Familiarity with SAFe delivery environments and backlog management using Azure DevOps.
  • Experience working with enterprise ITSM tools such as ServiceNow.
