Role: Tech Lead / Staff Engineer

Location: New Delhi (on-site)

About the Role

The Tech Lead / Staff Engineer is the most senior hands-on engineer in the developer cell, providing technical direction, code quality oversight, and architectural integrity for all in-house builds.

Key Responsibilities

• Set and enforce coding standards, review practices, and architectural patterns across the developer cell
• Lead in-house development of prototypes, proof-of-concepts, and new feature builds as directed by the Head of Engineering
• Review vendor HLDs and LLDs for technical soundness before build commences
• Own CI/CD pipeline design and standards for in-house builds (GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, Helm)
• Provide cross-cutting architectural guidance across frontend, backend, data, and mobile teams
• Mentor mid-level engineers in the developer cell; conduct code reviews and technical retrospectives
• Ensure all in-house code meets NEGD security, performance, and documentation standards before handover to vendors

What We Are Looking For

• Full-stack or backend-heavy technical leader with hands-on production experience across the SIDH stack (Java Spring Boot, NestJS, React, AWS, Kubernetes)
• Strong understanding of microservices architecture, API design, and DevSecOps practices
• Experience leading small engineering teams in fast-paced, multi-stakeholder environments

Good to Have

• Experience in govtech or public digital infrastructure platforms
• Familiarity with ArgoCD, Helm, SonarQube, and OpenShift/ROSA
