Role Purpose
The Technical Manager is responsible for leading the engineering and technical functions across major building construction projects, ensuring that all design, engineering, procurement, and construction activities are fully coordinated and executed in accordance with contractual requirements, applicable codes and standards, project specifications, quality requirements, and project schedules.
The role serves as the technical authority throughout the project lifecycle, providing strategic engineering leadership while ensuring successful coordination between design consultants, project management teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and regulatory authorities.
The Technical Manager plays a critical role in minimizing technical risks, driving value engineering initiatives, resolving complex engineering challenges, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Leadership
- Lead all engineering and technical activities across multiple large-scale building projects.
- Develop and implement technical strategies aligned with project objectives.
- Establish engineering standards, technical procedures, and best practices throughout project execution.
- Serve as the principal technical authority for project teams and senior management.
Design & Engineering Management
- Manage multidisciplinary engineering disciplines including:
- Civil
- Structural
- Architectural
- Mechanical
- Electrical
- Plumbing (MEP)
- Façade
- Infrastructure
- Review and approve engineering deliverables throughout all project stages.
- Ensure engineering solutions are practical, buildable, economical, and compliant with project requirements.
- Oversee design development from Concept Design through IFC drawings.
Design Coordination
- Coordinate design interfaces between consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Lead multidisciplinary design coordination meetings.
- Resolve technical clashes through BIM and engineering coordination.
- Ensure engineering information is issued in accordance with project schedules.
- Monitor consultant deliverables and engineering progress.

Ensure all technical documentation complies with project specifications before construction.
Construction Support
Provide continuous engineering support during construction by:
- Resolving technical site issues.
- Supporting construction methodology development.
- Advising Project Managers and Site Teams.
- Reviewing temporary works proposals.
- Managing engineering changes.
- Ensuring constructability.
Value Engineering
- Identify opportunities to optimize project cost.
- Improve construction methodologies.
- Recommend alternative materials.
- Increase productivity.
- Improve lifecycle performance.
- Participate in value engineering workshops with clients and consultants.
Risk Management
- Identify engineering risks during design and construction.
- Develop mitigation strategies.
- Support commercial teams in evaluating technical claims and variations.
- Minimize design-related delays and project disruptions.
Quality Assurance
Ensure engineering works comply with:

Conduct regular technical audits and quality reviews.
Regulatory Compliance
Manage approvals with relevant UAE authorities including:

Ensure all technical submissions receive timely approvals.
