Job Overview
The Technical Manager FF&E (Fitout) is responsible for managing the technical aspects of furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E) across fitout projects, ensuring alignment with design intent, functional requirements, budget constraints, and project schedules. The role oversees FF&E specifications, coordination, procurement readiness, and site integration to deliver high-quality and compliant interiors.
Key Responsibilities
FF&E Technical Management
- Lead the technical development and coordination of FF&E packages for fitout projects.
- Ensure FF&E selections align with approved design intent, brand standards, functional requirements, and project budgets.
- Manage FF&E technical scopes from design development through installation and handover.
Specifications & Technical Documentation
- Develop and review FF&E technical specifications, schedules, and data sheets.
- Ensure specifications address performance, durability, safety, sustainability, and maintenance requirements.
- Review shop drawings, mock-ups, samples, and technical submissions related to FF&E.
Design Coordination & Integration
- Coordinate FF&E layouts and details with architectural, interior design, MEP, and structural teams.
- Ensure FF&E elements are properly integrated with services, finishes, and fitout works.
- Resolve technical interfaces and clashes related to FF&E installations.
Procurement & Vendor Coordination
- Support procurement teams in preparing FF&E tender packages and technical evaluations.
- Participate in technical bid evaluations and vendor clarifications.
- Coordinate with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure compliance with specifications and delivery schedules.
Quality Control & Compliance
- Ensure FF&E materials and installations comply with approved specifications, samples, and quality standards.
- Coordinate inspections, factory visits, and mock-up approvals as required.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, safety standards, and authority requirements.
Cost & Value Engineering Support
- Support cost control and value engineering initiatives related to FF&E without compromising quality or design intent.
- Provide technical input for cost comparisons, substitutions, and alternative proposals.
Site Support & Installation Oversight
- Provide technical support during FF&E installation and integration on site.
- Coordinate resolution of site technical issues related to FF&E.
- Support snagging, punch list closure, and final acceptance.
Reporting & Stakeholder Coordination
- Prepare technical reports and updates related to FF&E scope, risks, and progress.
- Coordinate with project managers, designers, consultants, and clients on FF&E matters.
- Support management decision-making with technical recommendations.
Lead and mentor FF&E technical staff and coordinators.
- Promote standardization, innovation, and best practices in FF&E development and delivery.

Other Tasks and Accountabilities
- Perform additional tasks relevant to the role / area of expertise as requested by senior management to support project and organizational objectives.
- Support fast-track and high-end fitout projects requiring complex FF&E coordination.
- Contribute to standardization of FF&E specifications, vendor libraries, and technical guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, quality, and environmental management procedures and controls in line with IMS standards.
