Job Description

Job Summary

The Technical Manager will lead and oversee the engineering and technical execution of power generation projects, with a strong focus on gas-fired generation technologies (e.g., combined cycle, open cycle, reciprocating engines). This role demands deep technical expertise, strategic project leadership, and cross-functional coordination to ensure timely, cost-effective, and high-quality delivery of energy infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Leadership:
  • Lead the technical planning, design, and execution of gas-based power generation projects from concept to commissioning.
  • Engineering Oversight:
  • Supervise multidisciplinary engineering teams (mechanical, electrical, civil) and ensure alignment with project specifications, codes, and standards.
  • Technology Evaluation:
  • Assess and select appropriate gas generation technologies (e.g., turbines, engines, CHP systems) based on project requirements and site conditions.
  • Stakeholder Coordination:
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, and regulatory bodies to ensure smooth project execution and compliance.
  • Budget & Schedule Management:
  • Support cost estimation, procurement strategies, and scheduling to meet project milestones.
  • Risk & Quality Management:
  • Implement robust QA/QC procedures and risk mitigation strategies across all phases of the project.
  • Sustainability & Efficiency:
  • Promote energy efficiency, emissions reduction, and integration of digital tools (e.g., SCADA, predictive maintenance) in plant operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Energy Engineering
  • Minimum 8–10 years of experience in power generation projects, with at least 5 years in gas-based systems
  • Proven track record in managing large-scale EPC or IPP projects
  • Strong knowledge of gas turbine technologies, thermodynamics, and grid interconnection

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with natural gas-fired power plants projects
  • Exposure to Middle East or emerging markets energy infrastructure
