We are hiring a Technical Office & Tendering Engineer –to join our Fire Protection Business Line.
Job Purpose
The Technical Office & Tendering Engineer – Fire Protection is responsible for supporting engineering, tendering, technical proposals, and project technical activities for Fire Protection projects.
The role includes reviewing tender documents and project specifications, preparing technical and commercial proposals, performing engineering calculations, preparing technical submittals and drawings, and coordinating with clients, suppliers, procurement, and project teams to ensure technically compliant and cost-effective solutions in accordance with applicable codes and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities
1. Technical Office & Engineering
- Review project specifications, drawings, BOQs, and client technical requirements.
- Prepare and review engineering calculations, technical studies, shop drawings, and related technical documentation.
- Perform hydraulic calculations and support the selection and sizing of Fire Protection systems and equipment.
- Prepare technical solutions in compliance with project specifications, client requirements, NFPA standards, and applicable international codes.
- Provide engineering support for Fire Protection systems, including:
- Sprinkler Systems
- Fire Pump Systems
- Foam Fire Suppression Systems
- Clean Agent Fire Suppression Systems
- Wet & Dry Chemical Suppression Systems
- Fire Detection & Alarm Systems
- Fire Suppression Release & Control Systems
- Review technical requirements and propose practical and cost-effective engineering solutions.
- Support the preparation and review of system layouts and technical drawings.
2. Tendering & Technical Proposals
- Review RFQs, RFPs, tender documents, specifications, drawings, and BOQs.
- Analyze tender requirements and identify the required technical scope.
- Prepare technical and commercial proposals in coordination with the Sales and Commercial teams.
- Prepare quantity take-offs and Material Take-Offs (MTOs) based on project requirements.
- Support project cost estimation through accurate technical quantities and equipment selection.
- Prepare technical compliance statements, deviations, and clarifications.
- Respond to technical inquiries and tender clarifications.
- Support technical discussions with clients and consultants during tender and pre-award stages.
3. Technical Procurement & Supplier Coordination
- Prepare technical specifications and requirements for procurement activities.
- Review suppliers and manufacturers technical offers, datasheets, and quotations.
- Prepare technical comparisons and evaluate proposed equipment against project specifications.
- Coordinate with suppliers to obtain required technical information, quotations, and supporting documentation.
- Support the selection of technically compliant and cost-effective equipment and materials.
- Coordinate with Procurement regarding technical requirements and material approvals.
4. Technical Submittals & Project Support
- Prepare technical and material submittals, datasheets, catalogues, and compliance documentation.
- Follow up on technical submissions and approvals with clients and consultants.
- Address technical comments and revise documents and drawings as required.
- Provide technical support to Project and Site teams during project execution.
- Assist in resolving technical issues during installation, testing, and commissioning.
- Participate in site visits and technical meetings when required.
- Support the preparation of as-built drawings and final technical documentation.
5. Documentation & Coordination
- Maintain proper records of technical proposals, drawings, submittals, revisions, and approvals.
- Coordinate with Sales, Projects, Procurement, Installation, and other relevant teams.
- Ensure technical documentation is accurate, complete, and submitted within required deadlines.
Required Skills
- Good knowledge of Fire Protection and Fire Fighting Systems.
- Good knowledge of NFPA Codes and applicable Fire Protection standards.
- Ability to read and interpret technical specifications, drawings, and BOQs.
- Good knowledge of hydraulic calculations and equipment selection.
- Good understanding of Technical Office and Tendering processes.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good commercial awareness and cost optimization capabilities.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tenders and technical assignments simultaneously.
- Very good command of English, both written and spoken.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Hydraulic Calculation Software.
Minimum Required Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Minimum Required Experience
- 2–4 years of relevant experience in Fire Protection
- Practical experience in Technical Office and Tendering activities is required.
- Experience in preparing technical proposals, BOQs/MTOs, hydraulic calculations, technical submittals, and shop drawings is preferred.
- Experience with Fire Protection equipment selection and supplier technical evaluation is preferred.
- Previous exposure to Oil & Gas, industrial, or EPC projects is a strong advantage.
