Job Summary
The Technical Office Electrical Engineer is responsible for preparing and reviewing all technical documentation related to electrical systems in construction projects. This includes shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and coordination with project stakeholders to ensure smooth execution in line with project specifications, standards, and timelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Review project specifications, IFC drawings, and BOQs to prepare accurate technical submissions.
- Develop and coordinate electrical shop drawings (lighting, power, low current, earthing, etc.).
- Prepare material submittals and ensure compliance with project and regulatory standards.
- Coordinate with consultants, clients, and subcontractors to obtain approvals and resolve technical issues.
- Prepare and update method statements, technical reports, and as-built drawings.
- Conduct coordination with other disciplines (mechanical, civil, architectural) to resolve clashes and ensure integration.
- Provide technical support to site teams and respond to RFIs (Requests for Information).
- Monitor project documentation flow and track approvals using document control systems.
- Ensure compliance with local authorities regulations and assist in the approval process.
Qualifications And Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- 3–7 years of experience in technical office roles within the electrical or MEP contracting industry.
- Solid knowledge of electrical systems: LV, MV, lighting, power distribution, ELV/low current systems.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit (preferred), and Microsoft Office.
- Familiarity with international standards (IEC, IEEE, NEC, etc.) and local authority regulations.
- Strong organizational, coordination, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
Preferred
- Experience with BIM modeling and clash detection.
- Familiarity with document control and project management tools (e.g., Aconex, Primavera).
- Prior experience working with consultants, developers, and government authorities.
