Job Description

As a Technical Office Section Head Architectural, you will play a pivotal role in leading and managing the technical aspects of architectural engineering projects. This position involves overseeing the preparation of shop drawings, coordinating approvals, resolving technical issues, and ensuring strict compliance with project standards and specifications.

Your responsibilities will encompass the following key areas:

Project Contract Document Study:

  • Thoroughly study project contract documents, including time schedules, design drawings, and Bills of Quantities (BOQ).
  • Ensure a clear understanding of project requirements and specifications.

Shop Drawing Log Management:

  • Update the shop drawing log before submitting drawings to the consultant for approval.
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance with project design and specifications in all shop drawings.

Request for Information (RFI) Preparation:

  • Study and prepare RFIs for any missing, unclear, or conflicting technical information during construction.
  • Coordinate the resolution of technical matters with the project consultant.

Subcontractor and Outsourced Drawing Review:

  • Review shop drawings submitted by subcontractors and external vendors.
  • Coordinate the approval process with the project consultant, addressing any discrepancies or concerns.

Leadership and Oversight:

  • Lead and manage the architectural technical office section, providing guidance and direction to ensure project success.
  • Oversee the technical team's activities, promoting collaboration and effective communication.

Technical Issue Resolution:

  • Participate in resolving unexpected technical difficulties and problems during construction.
  • Report issues to the Technical Office Manager for discussion and implementation of proper solutions.

As-Built Drawing Preparation:

  • Prepare accurate as-built drawings at the conclusion of the project.
  • Hand over completed drawings to the project consultant for record-keeping.

Compliance and Standard Adherence:

  • Ensure that all work complies with project standards, industry codes, specifications, and design instructions.
  • Conduct regular checks to confirm adherence to established guidelines.

Construction Detail Preparation:

  • Prepare detailed drawings required for all construction items, ensuring clarity and accuracy.

Coordination with Different Disciplines:

  • Collaborate with other disciplines, including structural and MEP teams.
  • Ensure coordination and integration of architectural drawings with drawings from other disciplines.

To excel in this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications and attributes:

  • B.Sc. degree in Architectural Engineering.
  • 10:13years of experience related to all architectural technical office work for the construction of large-scale building projects (Commercial, Hotels, and Administrative).
  • Previous experience in a well-known Consultancy is a must
  • Computer skills: MS Office, AutoCAD, 3D Max, and Revit.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and analytical abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
