Technical Safety Engineer (Consultant)

A hands-on engineering role supporting safety studies and HSEIA reports from data collection to final report. Ideal for an engineer with solid modelling basics who wants exposure to a wide range of onshore and offshore assets.

Key Responsibility:

• Collect, review and verify input data (P&IDs, PFDs, heat and material balances, plot plans, 3D models, manning and meteorological data); log gaps and join site visits for verification.

• Define isolatable sections, inventories and parts counts; run consequence and risk models in PHAST / SAFETI under senior direction.

• Support fire and gas mapping, flare radiation, hazardous area classification, SCE identification and drafting of performance standards.

• Draft report sections, assumption registers, figures and contour plots.

• Compile HSEIA screening reports and full HSEIA reports from the constituent studies.

• Maintain comment resolution sheets and follow QA/QC procedures: self-checks, peer-review checklists and native-file archiving.

Requirement:

• Degree in Chemical, Process, Mechanical or Safety Engineering.

• 5+ years in technical safety within an oil & gas consultancy, EPC contractor or operator.

• Hands-on PHAST / SAFETI; exposure to Flaresim, Detect3D or similar tools.

• Understanding of how HAZID / HAZOP outputs feed major accident hazard studies.

• Structured and detail-oriented, with good written English; willing to travel to sites.
