To create adequate focus on Technical Safety & Environment agenda. To support the implementation of PepsiCo Global EHS Management System (GEHSMS) at Egypt BU level. Furthermore, to liaise with Projects & Engineering teams as well as Plant EHS Managers to fully implement engineering EHS standards & requirements (e.g. machinery safety, explosion prevention, hazardous energy, Ammonia, wastewater treatment & discharge, electrical, construction safety & EHS Lifecycle) to drive operational excellence in these areas.
Responsibilities
- Partner with EHS, Engineering & Projects teams to deliver step change improvements in Technical Safety & Environment KPIs across the different functions (manufacturing & non-manufacturing). C, E
- Develop consolidated risk mitigation plans & Technical Safety & Environment strategy for BU & ensure adequate budgets are availed & well-managed to deliver results. D, I
- Actively stay abreast of latest best practice developments through regular connects with Sector COE, hisher other counterparts in Sector BUs, local & global suppliers. E
- Align on best practice deployment & development of supporting tools required to deliver the aspired performance improvement. Drive standardization & lift & shift of initiatives across BU sites. D, I
- Overlook & track spend of BU budget (Opex & Capex) according to AOP to mitigate/eliminate EHS risks & drive towards Zero Harm through enhancing EHS overall capability & culture. D, I
- Lead continuous improvement of Technical Safety & Environment agenda through reporting & monitoring KPIs, trend analysis, benchmarking, auditing & supporting operations in setting action plans & ensuring their implementation. I, C
- Conduct routine performance reviews & corrective/preventive action plans with relevant functions to highlight critical to EHS risks, monitor action plan closure, share incidetns alerts, etc. Elevate engagement & drive positive performance as per AOP targets & Technical Safety & Environment priorities. - Build strong Technical Safety & Environment (WWTP SET, HAC, HAZOP, etc.) capabilities across BU. Assess capability, identify gap & execute training & development programs with adequate resources (modules, tools, budget, etc.). C, E
- Participate in design risk assessments, verification, validation of new & legacy machinery & equipment. Conduct appropriate reviews to ensure compliance with all EHS requirements (machinery safety, wastewater treatment, fire protection, etc.). Develop roadmap for risk mitigation / machinery safety compliance of legacy equipment. D, I
- Lead the execution of risk mitigation controls related to Fire Prevention & Protection, FM Global & Civil Defense requirements across BU sites (manufacturing & non-manufacturing). E
- Investigate root causes of incidents including all injuries & illness related to Technical Safety & Environment. Identify adequate corrective/preventive actions to prevent recurrence. Ensure incidents are properly & timely reported according to Pepsico standard. I, C
- Ensure with key stakeholders (Engineering, Projects, Manufacturing) changes are managed under adequate Management of Change (MoC) to ensure compliance with Pep EHS standards. I, C
- Ensure adequate & robust governance systems are in place to improve performance & ensure regulatory compliance. Ensure periodic reviews/update of existing Technical Safety & Environment standards, programs & practices. D, I
Qualifications
- 7+ years of Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) experience in a similar industry is required
- Experience in F&B manufacturing environment is preferred
- Professional EHS certification is preferred
- Functional EHS knowledge in local & international regulatory requirements, EHS technical aspects (technical/process safety, environment, etc.), risk management, budgeting, training, auditing / program review, vendor / consultant management, business knowledge required
- Bachelor of Science / Engineering is preferred
- Fluent Arabic & English is required
- Strong computer skills & knowledge of Microsoft Office (powerpoint, excel, etc.)
- Solid understanding of business cold
- Project management skills, drive for results

- Highly analytical
- Proven track record in driving cultural change in EHS
