About the job Technical Writer — Developer Tools & AI Help developers understand, adopt, and get the most out of Oppex AI. Oppex is building an AI-native platform for modern engineering teams. As engineering organizations increasingly rely on AI to write code, the bottleneck is shifting from writing code to understanding, operating, and improving increasingly complex software systems. We're building products that sit at the heart of this new engineering workflow—and we're looking for a Technical Writer to help developers understand and adopt them. This is not a traditional documentation role. You'll work closely with product, engineering, and customers to turn complex technical concepts into documentation, guides, examples, and content that developers genuinely find useful. What you'll do Own and evolve Oppex's developer documentation across product features, APIs, integrations, workflows, and troubleshooting. Work directly with engineers and product managers to understand complex technical concepts and translate them into clear, developer-friendly content. Create getting-started guides, how-to guides, tutorials, API documentation, troubleshooting guides, FAQs, and technical reference material. Build documentation around real developer workflows rather than simply documenting product features. Work with customers and our solutions team to identify documentation gaps and improve product adoption. Create technical content that helps developers understand the why, not just the how, behind Oppex. Help establish documentation standards, information architecture, terminology, and content quality across the product. Partner with engineering to keep documentation accurate as the product evolves rapidly. Experiment with AI-assisted documentation workflows and tools to make documentation creation and maintenance significantly faster. What we're looking for 3–6+ years of experience in technical writing, developer documentation, developer education, or a closely related role. Strong ability to understand and explain technical concepts to software engineers. Experience documenting developer tools, SaaS products, APIs, infrastructure, observability, DevOps, or engineering workflows is a strong plus. Comfortable reading API specifications, logs, code snippets, configuration files, and technical architecture. Excellent written communication—you can make complex things feel simple without making them inaccurate. Strong product sense and curiosity. You don't just document what exists; you ask whether developers can actually accomplish what they came to do. Comfortable working directly with engineers and product teams in a fast-moving startup environment. Ability to work independently and take ownership of documentation as a product. Bonus points You've written documentation for developers or an open-source project. You have hands-on experience with Git, Markdown, APIs, REST, JSON, CLI tools, or developer tooling. You've worked with documentation platforms such as Mintlify, GitBook, Docusaurus, ReadMe, or similar. You have experience with observability, incident management, DevOps, Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure, or AI developer tools. You have experimented with LLMs and AI-assisted content creation.
