Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Telematics /Tracking Device (GPS) Technician responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining vehicle tracking and monitoring devices. The technician will handle various telematics equipment such as GPS trackers, weight sensors, dashcams, SOS buttons, and immobilizer systems to ensure proper functionality and accurate data reporting in the monitoring platform.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install and configure vehicle tracking devices including GPS trackers, weight sensors, dash cameras, SOS buttons, and immobilizers.
  • Perform testing and calibration of installed devices to ensure proper functionality and accurate data transmission.
  • Troubleshoot and repair device, wiring, or connectivity issues.
  • Configure SIM cards, device parameters, and communication settings within the tracking platform.
  • Ensure proper integration between installed devices and the monitoring system.
  • Perform regular maintenance and replacement of faulty devices.
  • Maintain installation records including device serial numbers, SIM numbers, and vehicle details.
  • Support the fleet management team in diagnosing telematics or vehicle monitoring issues.
  • Ensure safe and professional installation practices according to company standards.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with fleet management and tracking systems.
  • Knowledge of SIM card configuration and network communication (GSM/4G).
  • Experience installing dashcams and vehicle monitoring systems.
  • Good documentation and reporting skills.

Qualification:

  • Diploma or technical certification in Electronics, Automotive Electrical Systems, Telecommunications, or a related field.
  • Experience in installing vehicle telematics or tracking devices is preferred.
  • Knowledge of vehicle electrical systems and wiring.
  • Basic understanding of GPS tracking systems and telematics platforms.
  • Ability to diagnose technical issues and perform troubleshooting.
  • Basic computer skills for device configuration and reporting.

Work Environment:

  • Field-based work involving installation in vehicles and equipment.
  • Coordination with fleet management and operations teams.
