Tender Engineer

Role Description The Tender Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Cairo, responsible for managing the technical and commercial aspects of tender submissions for construction and fit-out projects. This position involves reviewing tender documents, drawings, and specifications; coordinating with engineering, procurement, and cost control teams to gather accurate data; and preparing detailed cost estimates, BOQs, and pricing proposals. The Tender Engineer will develop and compile tender documentation, ensure compliance with client requirements and company standards, and track clarifications and addenda throughout the tender process. The role includes conducting market research on suppliers and subcontractors, analyzing risks and opportunities, and supporting management during negotiations and presentations. Day-to-day activities also include maintaining tender records, updating databases, and contributing to continuous improvement of tendering procedures.
Qualifications

• Strong technical background in civil, architectural, or construction engineering, with experience in fit-out, design and build, or general contracting.
• Proficiency in cost estimation, quantity take-off, and BOQ preparation using relevant software tools (e.g., Excel, estimating software, AutoCAD or similar).
• Solid understanding of tender processes, contract conditions, and procurement practices within the construction industry.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and project documentation with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills for coordinating with internal teams, suppliers, and subcontractors.
• Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple tenders.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Architectural, or related field) or an equivalent technical qualification.
• Previous experience in tendering, estimation, or planning within construction or fit-out projects is highly beneficial.
• Good command of written and spoken English; proficiency in additional languages is an advantage.
• Familiarity with local market rates, materials, and construction practices in Cairo
