Job Purpose:
Responsible for managing the preparation, coordination, and submission of competitive tenders and accurate cost estimates for construction projects.
Main job duties and responsibilities:
- Review and analyze tender documents, drawings, specifications, and client requirements.
- Oversee the preparation of cost estimates, bill of quantities (BOQ), and pricing strategies.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and project management departments to gather input for bid preparation.
- Assess project risks, resource requirements, and timelines in collaboration with the relevant teams.
- Conduct pre-tender site visits, when necessary, to understand project scope and logistics.
- Identify and communicate any discrepancies, risks, or clarifications required with the client or consultant.
- Prepare value engineering proposals and alternatives to enhance competitiveness.
- Lead internal tender review meetings and present proposals to senior management.
- Ensure timely submission of bids and compliance with all tender requirements and deadlines.
- Monitor market trends, material costs, and subcontractor pricing to maintain cost accuracy.
- Lead the tendering team in preparing and submitting complete and competitive technical and financial proposals.
- Perform any additional tasks that might be necessary for easier workflow, within the main frame of the job's specialty.
Educational background and previous experience:
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
- Min. 6 years of experience in tendering, estimation, or commercial roles within the construction industry.
