Overview of Role
The Test & Evaluation (T&E) Subject Matter Expert (SME) provides technical leadership and subject matter expertise in the planning, design, and coordination of test activities involving measurement and data capture systems. This role focuses on ensuring test objectives are clearly defined, technically sound, and logistically feasible while collaborating with internal execution teams and external clients to de-conflict resources and schedules. Additionally, the T&E SME supports management in identifying opportunities for growth within the T&E, engineering, certification, and accreditation domains.

Main Tasks & Responsibilities
Test Planning, Design, and Coordination
Develop and review detailed test plans, objectives, and data requirements for tests utilizing measurement and data capture systems.
Design test concepts and methodologies that meet client and program objectives while ensuring technical and logistical feasibility.
Coordinate with clients, range operations, and internal test execution departments to align test requirements, timelines, and resources.
De-conflict range assets, instrumentation, and scheduling to ensure efficient use of facilities and minimize operational overlap.
Validate readiness of test plans and configurations prior to execution by the responsible conducting departments.
Review post-test data and reports to assess alignment with objectives and recommend process or system improvements. Strategic Growth and Capability Development
Support leadership in identifying and developing growth opportunities within Defense Test & Evaluation, engineering, certification, and accreditation areas.
Assess emerging technologies and methodologies to enhance organizational test planning and analysis capabilities.
Provide technical input and subject matter expertise to proposals, capability briefings, and business development initiatives.
Contribute to process improvement, quality assurance, and standardization of test planning practices.
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge-sharing within the organization.
Prerequisite Qualifications - Mandatory
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field.
15+ years of experience in defence platforms test planning, systems engineering, or range coordination roles.
Proven expertise in instrumentation, measurement systems, or data acquisition technologies.
Demonstrated ability to coordinate complex test activities across multiple stakeholders.
Understanding of safety principles, range management practices, and regulatory requirements.
