Job Description

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Testing Lead to oversee the testing strategy, planning, governance, and execution for a greenfield Digital Bank launch. The ideal candidate will bring the rigor and risk discipline of a classic/traditional banking environment, combined with prior experience at a testing company or consulting firm, to lead the QA function end-to-end and ensure a compliant, high-quality launch. Direct experience leading testing for a Digital Bank or Core Banking transformation program is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and own the overall Test Strategy, Test Plan, Test Governance, and Testing Roadmap for the digital bank launch program.
• Lead end-to-end testing activities including System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), Regression Testing, Performance Testing, Integration Testing, and Production Validation.
• Oversee testing of core banking platform integrations, payments, onboarding/KYC flows, card issuance, and digital channels (web/mobile).
• Manage testing execution across multiple testing partners, vendors, and cross-functional delivery teams.
• Establish testing governance, quality standards, reporting mechanisms, and risk management processes.
• Prepare test schedules, resource plans, effort estimates, and testing milestones.
• Ensure comprehensive test coverage aligned with business, functional, and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor testing progress, defect metrics, and quality KPIs, providing regular status updates to stakeholders.
• Drive defect triage meetings and coordinate issue resolution with development, business, and infrastructure teams.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts, Product Owners, Architects, PMO, Compliance, and Delivery Teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure regulatory and audit readiness — testing evidence, traceability matrices, and compliance sign-offs typical of banking environments.
• Own go-live readiness assessment and post-launch hypercare testing support.
• Mentor testing teams and promote QA best practices and continuous process improvement.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of experience in Software Testing and Test Management, including significant time within a classic/traditional retail or corporate bank.
• Prior experience at a testing company or consulting firm, bringing structured, repeatable test methodologies across multiple client environments.
• Demonstrated experience leading a testing function or team (Test Manager, QA Lead, Head of Testing) — not solely as an individual contributor.
• Strong expertise in Test Strategy, Test Planning, Test Governance, and Test Execution.
• Strong knowledge of SDLC, STLC, Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall methodologies.
• Expertise in SIT, UAT, Regression, Integration, End-to-End, Performance, and Production Testing.
• Experience with test and defect management tools such as JIRA, Azure DevOps, HP ALM/Quality Center, TestRail, or similar.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, leadership, and project coordination skills.
• Ability to manage multiple testing workstreams simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience overseeing the launch of a Digital Bank or Core Banking Transformation program.
• Strong understanding of Retail Banking, Corporate Banking, Payments, Lending, Deposits, and Digital Channels.
• Experience with API Testing, Microservices, Middleware, and Integration Testing.
• Exposure to Test Automation frameworks and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience working with cloud-based banking environments.
• Knowledge of banking regulatory, compliance, and security standards (AML/KYC testing, data privacy, audit trail requirements).
• Experience with Core Banking platforms such as Oracle FLEXCUBE, Temenos, Finacle, T24, or similar is an advantage.
• ISTQB certification is preferred.
• PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, or Scrum certification is preferred.
