Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Testing Lead to provide end-to-end quality leadership across complex digital and enterprise solutions. The Testing Lead will be responsible for defining the overall test strategy, planning and execution governance, defect management, release validation, and quality reporting.
The role will work closely with business, technology, delivery, and product stakeholders to ensure solutions are thoroughly validated and meet agreed quality, performance, security, and business acceptance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the overall test strategy, test planning, execution governance, and quality assurance activities across multiple technology platforms.
- Define and maintain risk-based testing approaches aligned with project objectives, timelines, and business priorities.
- Coordinate System Integration Testing (SIT) and provide governance and support for User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Lead regression testing planning and ensure adequate test coverage for releases and major changes.
- Establish and manage defect management processes, including defect triage, prioritisation, resolution tracking, and escalation.
- Coordinate release validation and acceptance activities to ensure solutions are production-ready.
- Monitor and communicate test progress, quality metrics, risks, issues, and release readiness to stakeholders.
- Define quality gates and acceptance criteria for key delivery milestones.
- Identify testing risks, dependencies, and gaps and drive appropriate mitigation actions.
- Coordinate testing across internal teams, vendors, developers, business users, and other stakeholders.
- Support continuous improvement of testing processes, standards, tooling, and automation practices.
Technical Testing Scope
The Testing Lead will be expected to define and govern testing strategies across a broad technology landscape, including:
- Sitecore / Next.js web applications
- React Native mobile applications
- Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365)
- APIs and integrations
- Data pipelines and data validation
- AI/ML components and AI-enabled functionality
- Performance and scalability testing
- Security testing coordination
- Test automation frameworks and tooling
Test Management & Governance
- Develop test plans, test scenarios, test cases, and traceability approaches appropriate to the delivery.
- Establish SIT/UAT governance and ensure appropriate entry and exit criteria are defined.
- Ensure sufficient test coverage across functional, integration, regression, non-functional, and acceptance testing.
- Maintain visibility of test execution status and outstanding risks.
- Produce clear quality and release readiness reports for senior stakeholders.
- Ensure critical defects and quality risks are appropriately escalated and managed through to resolution.
- Support acceptance validation and formal release sign-off processes.
Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Provide strong quality leadership across multiple teams and workstreams.
- Coordinate effectively with technical teams, business stakeholders, product owners, project managers, and delivery partners.
- Communicate complex testing and quality issues clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Apply risk-based thinking when determining test priorities, coverage, and release decisions.
- Drive timely escalation and resolution of critical quality issues.
- Promote a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Key Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in a Test Lead / QA Lead / Test Manager role within complex digital or enterprise environments.
- Strong experience in test strategy, test planning, SIT, UAT, regression testing, and release validation.
- Strong understanding of defect management and quality governance.
- Experience working across multiple technologies, applications, integrations, and delivery teams.
- Experience with web, mobile, API, data, and integration testing.
- Understanding of performance and security testing principles.
- Experience with test automation tools and frameworks.
- Experience testing or governing quality across platforms such as Sitecore, Next.js, React Native, D365, APIs, data pipelines, or AI solutions is highly desirable.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to assess risks, make quality recommendations, and escalate issues effectively.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
