The TPH Technical Consultant/Solution Architect (Payments) is responsible for leading the technical architecture and solution design of the retail and corporate payments ecosystem. The role ensures end-to-end integration across channels, payment switches, and backend systems while enabling secure, scalable, and real-time payment processing within a dynamic banking environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture and design of the retail and corporate payments ecosystem
- Design end-to-end integration with Temenos, NI Cards, SARIE, and other external payment switches
- Define and implement API strategy using Kong middleware or similar API gateway solutions
- Ensure system scalability, resilience, and real-time transaction processing capabilities
- Support solution design for instant payments, fund transfers, bill payments, and related services
- Provide technical leadership and coordination across multiple vendors and internal technology teams
- Ensure alignment of architecture with security, compliance, and regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to translate requirements into robust technical solutions
- Review and validate integration designs, data flows, and system interfaces
- Contribute to enterprise architecture standards and best practices for payment systems
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field
- 10–15 years of experience in payments architecture, solution design, or enterprise integration roles
- Strong experience in retail and corporate payment systems within banking or fintech environments
- Deep understanding of payment switches, ISO 20022 messaging standards, and API gateway technologies
- Hands-on experience with integration platforms such as Temenos, NI Cards, SARIE, or similar systems
- Strong knowledge of real-time payment systems, instant transfers, and digital payment rails
- Experience in large-scale banking transformation programs, preferably in GCC region
- Strong analytical, architectural design, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional and multi-vendor environments
