Job Description

Position Overview:

Line management of a team of Track Inspectors, overall responsibility for ensuring the inspection of the track, switches, and related track asset, are carried out as per the agreed maintenance plan and standards. Providing assurance that the infrastructure track assets are safe and there is no risk to the operations of trains.

Roles and Responsibility:

  • Leads, plans, coordinates, and oversees the execution of all tasks required to ensure the integrity of the Track asset.
  • Oversees the work of the Track Inspection teams, to ensuring all work is carried efficiently and safely with full adherence to all safe systems of work, company policies and rules.
  • Ensure all results of the inspections are reviewed and recorded and any notifications of any track defects and unsafe conditions created and notified as appropriate.
  • Determines if the line is subject to any speed restriction.
  • Ensures a safe working environment for all employees and Contractors operating in Etihad Rail.
  • Ensures that the assets are kept safely in accordance with Etihad Rail Infrastructure standards.
  • Communicates with the Production team about necessary track repairs.
  • Engages with other operating disciplines, including planners, to coordinate facility activities.
  • Install's a culture innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Represents the Track Reliability Manager at meetings as directed.

Academic Qualifications:

  • Diploma Certificate or equivalent.

Professional Qualifications:

  • Proven knowledge of track maintenance and inspection.
  • Knowledge of applicable discipline-based railway standards.
  • Full driving license.

Experience:

  • Proven experience in the railway industry.
  • Experience in writing reports.
  • Experience in heavy haul railway maintenance desired.

Other Skills:

  • English as first language or advanced level of written and verbal skill.
  • Good planning skills.
  • Analytical skills for problem solving.
  • Basic skills in MS Office Programs.
  • Ability to deliver allocated elements of the Quality Management system.
  • Ability to work in a multicultural team.
