Job Purpose:
To manage, review, and approve bank guarantees, standby documentary credits (SBLC), and letters of credit while ensuring full compliance with internal policies, regulatory standards, and international trade finance practices. The role involves close collaboration with Compliance, Legal, and Credit Risk teams and supporting knowledge development within the finance unit.
Key Responsibilities :
- Review, vet, and approve Bank Guarantees, Standby DCs, and Letters of Credit in line with bank policies and international standards.
- Ensure compliance with UCP 600, ISP98, URDG 758, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Liaise regularly with Compliance, Legal, Credit Risk, and Business Units to resolve structuring, risk, and documentation issues.
- Identify and escalate risk, discrepancies, and operational gaps in trade finance transactions.
- Monitor global and local market developments and advise management on potential impacts.
- Prepare and conduct training sessions for team members on trade finance products and regulatory updates.
- Support process improvements and policy enhancements within the trade finance function.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
Key Requirements :
- Minimum 10 years experience in Letters of Credit and Bank Guarantees.
- Strong expertise in Guarantees, SBLCs, and Documentary Credits.
- Proven experience working with Compliance, Legal, and Credit Risk teams.
- Sound knowledge of international trade finance rules and practices.
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience in training and knowledge sharing is highly preferred.
- Banking or financial institution background is mandatory.
