Our client, a Dubai-based gold trading business backed by an established UAE group, is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to own the operations function end to end. This is a standalone, high-ownership role, you will be the operations lead for the business, working directly with senior leadership and reporting to the CFO.
The business combines physical gold trading with a digital platform, so the role spans traditional trade operations and platform-driven growth.
What You'll Do
- Oversee daily trade operations: trade execution, settlement, logistics, and documentation
- Manage relationships with refineries, logistics providers, customs authorities, and counterparties
- Ensure regulatory compliance and risk management across the trade lifecycle, maintaining audit-ready records
- Develop and implement operational processes and procedures to support platform functionality and growth
- Monitor platform performance and work with technology, marketing, and sales teams to improve user experience, engagement, and revenue
- Analyze market trends and provide data-driven input to strategic decisions
- Manage budgets, resources, and timelines across operations
- Build and lead the operations team as the business scales
What We're Looking For
- 5–7+ years in operations within gold, bullion, or commodity trading
- Strong understanding of the trade lifecycle, logistics, and international compliance standards
- Experience working with customs authorities, logistics vendors, and refineries preferred
- Knowledge of LBMA standards and precious metals benchmarks is a strong advantage
- Comfort operating in a lean, fast-paced environment with full ownership — this is a hands-on role, not a layered corporate structure
- Exposure to digital platforms, fintech, or e-commerce operations is a plus
- Proficiency in ERP systems and MS Office; strong analytical skills
- Bachelor's in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, or related field (MBA preferred)
- English fluency; Arabic or Hindi a plus
