Deliver Egypt's first High Speed Rail Service with DBEE. DBEE is a joint venture between DB International Operations and Elsewedy Electric. Together, we combine strong local capabilities with proven global railway expertise to enable efficient, safe and sustainable passenger and freight mobility on Egypt's first High Speed Rail network. We are looking for transport and mobility professionals with substantial experience in railway operations and projects in Egypt or worldwide. Join us to deliver this landmark project in Cairo.

The Train Driver Supervisor - Freight Operations is responsible for leading, coordinating, and managing the performance of freight train drivers, ensuring that all freight movements are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory, technical, and company standards. The role oversees daily driver deployment, safety compliance, competency management, and performance monitoring for freight services, including heavy haul, intermodal, and logistics operations. It plays a crucial role in ensuring on-time freight delivery, optimal asset utilization, and operational excellence across the network

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the continued readiness of qualified train drivers.
  • Control and coordinate all tasks within the area of responsibility, maintaining efficient working relationships and meeting specified deadlines.
  • Ensure adherence to relevant KPIs (health, safety, quality).
  • Lead and supervise the train drivers.
  • Identify individual training needs and arrange necessary training in collaboration with the training department.
  • Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
  • Implement monitoring procedures in accordance with the Safety Management System (SMS) and competence management.
  • Analyze personnel-related causes of delays in train and shunting operations.
  • Investigate and determine the causes of disturbances or dangerous events.
  • Ensure traffic medical fitness assessment according to competence management.
  • Implement health management and health promotion initiatives.
  • Apply organizational and management systems.
  • Prepare the team's vacation planning and approve vacation requests for team members.
  • Initiate and execute personnel decisions such as commendations, admonitions, and written warnings.
  • Assume the role of Incident Officer as per the Emergency Management procedures.
  • Conduct regular performance assessments of team members.
  • Report operational risks.

Qualifications:


  • Good interpersonal and leadership skills are required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Possession of a valid train driver's license.
  • Minimum 6 years of work experience preferably in rail industry.

Competencies:


  • Experience in development, implementation, updating, and monitoring train driver systems would be an asset.
  • Proven time management & organizational skills.
  • Good understanding of the business of a passenger railway operation and maintenance company, or equivalent.
  • Strong ability to work under pressure and meet challenging deadlines.
  • Strong commitment to safety.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact at all levels of the organization, being a team player.
  • Ability to work with a diverse workforce in intercultural environments.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Teams, Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.) and train driver IT systems.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
  • Fluent in Arabic.
