General Responsibilities
- Perform all duties and functions as instructed by the Tug Master.
- Adhere strictly to company HSE policies and all safety procedures.
- Comply with the company Safety Management System (HMS).
- Use personal protective equipment correctly at all times.
- Maintain safe, responsible conduct onboard the tug.
Safety & Emergency Responsibilities
- Maintain full knowledge of all safety and emergency equipment onboard, including locations and correct usage.
- Actively participate in all vessel drills, emergency exercises, and safety training.
- Exercise Stop Work authority when tasks are deemed unsafe and immediately inform the Master.
- Apply Svitzer safety tools including Stop Work and Take 5 procedures.
- Report Proactive and Near Miss incidents to the Master, including hazards with potential for injury, illness, pollution, damage, or defects.
Cook & Catering Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve meals for crew members in accordance with food safety and hygiene standards.
- Fully comply with Food Handling and Food Safety guidance at all times.
- Inform the Master immediately if food safety standards cannot be maintained.
- Maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen, pantries, refrigeration units, filters, walls, and storage areas.
- Ensure all electrical kitchen appliances are disconnected after use.
- Track food expiry dates, particularly preserved and refrigerated items.
- Lay out tables professionally for main meals (water, tissues, plates, and utensils).
- Preserve meals safely for up to 4 hours for crew unable to attend mealtime.
- Maintain good personal hygiene and a valid Cook's medical certificate.
GP / Deck & Operational Responsibilities
- Carry out general maintenance, cleaning, and housekeeping duties onboard.
- Maintain cleanliness of accommodation and living areas.
- Assist with mooring operations, towing ropes, and towing winches.
- Support crew during embarking and disembarking operations.
- Participate in main engine maintenance and repair activities as required.
- Perform lookout duties and maintain VHF radio watch during assigned shifts.
- Operate on mooring boats as instructed by the Tug Master or Company Management.
- Perform any additional duties as required to support tug operations.
Required Education & Certifications
- Valid Seaman's Book.
- Valid Seafarer Medical Certificate.
