Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose transmission and driveline issues using diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Inspect, repair, overhaul, and rebuild automatic and manual transmissions.
- Remove, install, and replace transmission assemblies and related components.
- Perform transmission fluid services, adjustments, and preventative maintenance.
- Test-drive vehicles to identify and verify transmission concerns.
- Interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and repair procedures.
- Use computerized diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot electronic transmission systems.
- Maintain accurate service records and repair documentation.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and company procedures.
- Collaborate with service advisors and other technicians to deliver efficient repairs.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Diploma or Technical Certification in Automotive Technology or a related field.
- Minimum 2–5 years of experience in transmission diagnosis and repair.
- Strong knowledge of automatic, manual, CVT, and dual-clutch transmission systems.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic scanners and specialized transmission tools.
- Ability to read technical manuals and schematics.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Valid driver's license preferred.
- Dealership or specialized transmission workshop experience is an advantage.
