Job Description

Job Title: Treasury Supervisor

Reports To: Group Head of Treasury (Direct) | Business Unit CFO (Dotted Line)

Business Unit: ACCBC Egypt

Function: Treasury / Finance

Grade: TBC

Location: Egypt (with frequent travel to Iraq)

Job Purpose

The Treasury Supervisor oversees treasury operations and maintains banking relationships primarily for the Business Unit across the Egypt, Iraq, and Libya markets, coordinating efficient cash management, timely payment processing, and support for group-wide treasury projects under the direction of the Group Head of Treasury.

Operating Context

  • The Treasury Supervisor operates across three distinct regulatory environments – Egypt, Iraq, and Libya – each with its own banking, FX, and compliance requirements, requiring the incumbent to navigate differing local practices while maintaining consistent treasury standards across the Business Unit.
  • The role works closely with Group Treasury, local finance and operational teams, and external banking partners to coordinate cash management, payments, and banking relationships across all three markets, ensuring alignment between local execution and group-level treasury governance.
  • Frequent travel to Iraq – approximately 30% of the time – is required to maintain on-the-ground banking relationships and oversight, given the market's distinct operating conditions and the need for direct engagement with local banks and stakeholders.
  • The role reports directly to the Group Head of Treasury, with a dotted line to the Business Unit CFO, sitting at the intersection of local execution and group-level treasury governance while supporting group-wide treasury initiatives alongside day-to-day Business Unit responsibilities.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

B. Cash Management & Payments Coordination

  • Coordinate with Group Treasury and local finance/operational departments to support efficient cash management and payments to suppliers, employees, and government entities – ensuring transactions are processed accurately and in line with agreed timelines.

C. Cash Planning & Liquidity

  • Oversee cash planning for the Business Unit, including preparing short-term and medium-term cash flow forecasts, monitoring actual cash positions against forecasts, anticipating funding needs and surpluses across the Egypt, Iraq, and Libya markets, and recommending actions to optimize liquidity and working capital.

D. Trade Finance Support

  • Support trade finance operations for the export business and other cross-functional initiatives within the Business Unit, coordinating with relevant stakeholders to ensure smooth processing and compliance with applicable trade finance requirements.

E. Group Treasury Projects

  • Support the Group Head of Treasury in advancing group-wide treasury initiatives and projects, such as TMS implementation, cash repatriation, in-house banking, and financial risk management – contributing local market insight and coordination as required.

F. Vendor & Master Data Maintenance

  • Ensure vendor master data is accurately maintained and regularly updated in bank records, including beneficiary details, bank account information, and required supporting documentation, to ensure smooth transaction processing.

G. Payment Processing

  • Process payments and transfers (local and cross-border) in an accurate and timely manner, ensuring proper approvals, supporting documentation, and compliance with internal controls, banking requirements, and applicable regulations in each market.

H. Treasury Accounting

  • Book journal vouchers related to treasury transactions – including payments, transfers, bank charges, and FX movements – ensuring accurate and timely recording in the ERP system and support for month-end closing activities.
