Job Summary
The Production Engineer will oversee the full production cycle of a newly established furniture line, ensuring smooth operations from design receipt to final product delivery. The role focuses on managing manufacturing processes, maintaining quality standards, and driving operational efficiency within a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the end-to-end production process, from receiving designs to final output
- Coordinate with design and technical teams to ensure accurate execution of specifications
- Plan, schedule, and monitor production activities and timelines
- Ensure quality standards are maintained across all production stages
- Supervise upholstery, cutting, assembly, and finishing processes
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce waste
- Collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams to ensure material availability
- Troubleshoot production issues and provide technical solutions
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and operational standards
- Prepare and analyze production reports and performance metrics
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or relevant
- 3–5 years of experience in furniture manufacturing or upholstery
- Experience in office furniture or automotive seating (e.g., buses or commercial vehicles)
- Strong experience in managing full production cycles
- Strong knowledge of furniture production processes (upholstery, cutting, assembly, finishing)
- Experience in quality control and material inspection
- Knowledge of root cause analysis and continuous improvement methodologies
- Familiarity with production planning and scheduling
- Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking
- Good communication and coordination skills
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- High attention to detail and quality
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
- Experience with SolidWorks or similar design tools is a plus
- Ability to prepare and analyze reports
- Good command of English
- Hands-on and detail-oriented mindset
- Ability to work on-site within a manufacturing environment
