Role Description

This is a remote, project-based contract role for a highly creative and technically adept Immersive UI/UX Designer. We are seeking a specialist who lives at the intersection of user experience, motion design, and interactive technology. You will be our expert partner for projects that demand more than a static webpage; you will create living, breathing digital environments that captivate users.

You will be responsible for designing next-generation immersive and interactive websites, translating ambitious creative concepts into tangible, engaging user journeys. This role requires a visionary who can blend storytelling, UX principles, and cutting-edge visual design to create experiences that feel alive.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead Immersive Design:Own the end-to-end design process for interactive web projects, from initial concept and storyboarding to final UI and motion specifications.
• Architect Interactive Journeys (UX):Map out user flows and interaction models specifically for dynamic, non-linear web experiences. Wireframes are not just layouts but entire animated sequences and interactive states.
• Craft Dynamic Interfaces (UI):Design visually stunning interfaces that seamlessly integrate with 2D and 3D elements. Create prototypes that demonstrate motion, transitions, and complex user interactions (e.g., scroll-based animations, cursor interactions).
• Bridge Design and Technology:Collaborate closely with developers who work with WebGL, Three.js, or similar 3D libraries. Your design handoffs must clearly communicate animation timings, easing, and interactive logic.
• Validate the Experience:Test and refine interactive prototypes to ensure the experience is not only beautiful but also intuitive, performant, and accessible.
• Push Creative Boundaries:Drive the creative vision, constantly seeking new ways to use interaction and motion to tell a story and engage the user.

Qualifications

• A Portfolio of Immersive Work:This is non-negotiable. Your portfolio must showcase projects featuring high-quality interactivity, motion design, and immersive elements. Standard mobile apps or static websites are not enough.
• Dual-Discipline Mastery:Expertise in both foundational UX principles and cutting-edge UI design for interactive media.
• Motion & Interaction Expertise:Proven ability to design complex animations, micro-interactions, and page transitions. Experience with tools like After Effects, Lottie, or similar is a major plus.
• 3D Web Familiarity:While you may not be a 3D modeler, you must understand the principles of designing for 3D space and be able to collaborate with developers on interactive 3D scenes. Experience with tools likeSpline, Blender, or Cinema 4Dis highly desirable.
• Technical Proficiency:Mastery ofFigmaor other design tools, with a deep understanding of how to create and document interactive prototypes.
• Consultative Mindset:Excellent communication skills to act as a strategic partner, translating wild creative ideas into actionable design plans for our team and clients.
• Educational Background:A degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field is less important than a portfolio that proves you can do this specific, high-level work.
