Job Description

Follow up the operation and maintenance of different utilities equipment continuously to maintain and reduce the failures, participate in the development of maintenance plan to achieve the desired goals in the best way
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Utility Systems Operation & Maintenance
  • Operate and maintain utility systems including:
  • Steam boilers and condensate systems
  • Refrigeration systems (NH / Freon / CO) for cold storage and process cooling
  • Compressed air systems
  • Chilled water and cooling towers
  • Water treatment (raw water, RO, softeners)
  • Wastewater treatment plant (ETP/STP)
  • Electrical power distribution and backup systems (DG sets, UPS)
  • Ensure uninterrupted utility supply to critical production areas such as washing, blanching, frying, freezing, and cold storage.
  • Energy & Efficiency Management
  • Monitor and optimize energy, water, steam, and fuel consumption.
  • Implement energy-saving initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
  • Track utility KPIs (specific energy, water usage per ton of fries produced).
  • Support sustainability and cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Preventive & Breakdown Maintenance
  • Develop and execute preventive maintenance schedules for all utility equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve utility-related breakdowns with minimal downtime.
  • Coordinate with maintenance teams and external service providers.
  • Safety, Compliance & Quality
  • Ensure compliance with local safety regulations, food safety standards (FSSC 22000 / ISO 22000), and environmental norms.
  • Maintain statutory compliance for boilers, pressure vessels, refrigeration systems, and electrical installations.
  • Enforce safe working practices, LOTO, and permit-to-work systems.
  • Support audits (internal, customer, regulatory).
  • Documentation & Reporting
  • Maintain logs for boilers, refrigeration, water, and energy consumption.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly utility performance reports.
  • Maintain SOPs, PM checklists, and calibration records.
  • Project & Improvement Support
  • Assist in installation, commissioning, and validation of new utility equipment.
  • Support plant expansion and capacity enhancement projects.
  • Work closely with production, QA, and engineering teams.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Academic and Professional Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering / Electrical Engineering / Utilities / Energy Engineering
  • Boiler Operation certification (where applicable) preferred
  • Experience
  • 3–5 years of experience in utilities operations
  • Experience in food processing plants, preferably frozen foods / potato processing / FMCG
  • Hands-on experience with boilers and industrial refrigeration systems
  • Skills and Competencies
  • Strong understanding of food industry utilities
  • Knowledge of ammonia refrigeration safety (preferred)
  • Energy management and troubleshooting skills
  • Familiarity with CMMS systems
  • Good communication and team coordination skills
  • Ability to work in shifts if required
