Vice President, Development – Residential | MAF Properties | Egypt Portfolio
ROLE SUMMARY
The VP Development – Residential is responsible for leading the end-to-end development lifecycle of community-focused developments within DBU. The role oversees the planning, design, approvals, construction, and delivery of developments to world-class standards, ensuring a balance between customer desirability, commercial performance, and operational sustainability.
ROLE PROFILE
- Lead the vision, feasibility studies, and master planning of new community developments aligned with market demand and MAF's long-term strategy.
- Oversee the full development lifecycle, from land due diligence and planning through to project delivery and handover.
- Manage design, engineering, infrastructure, and project phasing while coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
- Develop business cases, financial models, ROI projections, and ensure projects meet budget, profitability, and delivery targets.
- Drive stakeholder management by working closely with investment, design, legal, sales, operations, consultants, contractors, and government authorities.
- Ensure timely permits, regulatory approvals, community engagement, and effective risk and contract management.
- Integrate sustainability, placemaking, digital infrastructure, and customer-centric principles to create livable, long-term community assets.
- Lead cross-functional teams and consultants, fostering collaboration while mentoring team members to deliver large-scale master-planned developments successfully.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in Real Estate Development, Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree, MBA, or Project Management qualification preferred.
- 12-15 years of experience in real estate or community development, including at least 5 years in a senior project, development, or delivery leadership role.
- Proven experience managing large-scale residential, mixed-use, or master-planned community developments, preferably within the MENA region.
- Strong commercial and strategic mindset with the ability to drive project value, financial performance, and business objectives.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with experience engaging internal teams, consultants, contractors, and government authorities.
- Detail-oriented, customer-focused, decisive, and resilient leader capable of managing complex projects and delivering results under pressure.
