Vice President Commercial & Cost Control
Overview
A leading real estate developer is seeking an experienced senior commercial leader to oversee cost, commercial, and financial performance across a portfolio of large-scale developments. This role will play a critical part in driving commercial discipline, managing risk, and ensuring strong financial outcomes across multiple high-value projects.
Responsibilities
- Lead commercial and cost management activities across major development projects from design through to final account
- Own budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and financial reporting across multiple assets
- Manage variations, claims, and contractual negotiations with consultants, contractors, and suppliers
- Provide commercial leadership on high-rise, mixed-use, residential, and infrastructure developments
- Partner closely with development, project, and finance teams to ensure commercial alignment and delivery
- Prepare and present detailed commercial reports to senior leadership and executive stakeholders
- Establish and maintain robust commercial governance and risk management frameworks
Candidate Profile
- 18+ years experience in commercial management / cost control within large-scale developments
- Background from developer, contractor, or consultancy environments
- Proven track record managing complex budgets, final accounts, and commercial close-out
- Strong experience across high-rise, mixed-use, residential, or infrastructure projects
- Confident working at senior leadership level with strong commercial judgement
