Your Mission
Viory is currently seeking a highly motivated and proactive Video Journalist for our MENA desk.
This role, requires a combination of journalistic rigor and technical video editing skills. The ideal candidate will instantly recognize must-have video content and be able to turn that footage into a professional package for our clients - and at speed!
If you can watch a video file and see exactly which part is the most valuable from a visual point of view; the worthiest of highlighting; and the most desirable acquisition for media outlets aiming to draw their audiences attention - then we want to hear from you.
Your Main Tasks
- Transforming raw footage into polished, engaging video content
- Monitoring live transmissions, spotting critical content and editing video into coherent and engaging packages
- Writing captivating headlines and scripts to go alongside the footage, explaining exactly why it is must-have and including all the essential background
- Translating soundbites (SOTs), live broadcasts, and other source material with expert accuracy
- Conducting rigorous research to gather accurate information from reliable sources
- Working closely with our Output Editors to provide comprehensive and joined-up coverage
Your Skills
To be successful at this position, we think you should to have:
- Possession of a journalism or politics degree, or a relevant qualification, is essential.
- Proficient English speakers required
- Proficiency in the Arabic language, along with excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Positive mindset and exceptional communication skills.
- Ownership mentality and proactive approach.
- Availability for shifts including nights and weekends is required.
