Introduction
Abu Dhabi University invites applications for a full time faculty position in the Department of Aviation to start in the Academic year 2025/26.
Abu Dhabi University (ADU) is a private, multi campus university dedicated to meeting the needs for educational opportunities in the United Arab Emirates and neighboring countries. The Department of Aviation within the College of Engineering has currently about 200 students and is expanding its academic spectrum including a master program in Aviation. Presently the vast majority of students is in the BSc Aviation program. ADU also offers an MBA with a Concentration in Aviation Management.
The aviation faculty are expected and encouraged to conduct research. Certain grants are available for research, attending conferences and personal development or training. Appointment will be as Lecturer, Senior Lecturer or Associate Professor, depending on teaching and research experience.

Qualifications And Requirements
- Desirable a Doctorate or Master's degree in Aviation, Aeronautical Engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution, complemented by a background in business administration and management and holding IATA, ICAO, and ACI certifications in aviation operations, safety, and compliance.
- An excellent record of teaching undergraduate and graduate aviation courses, with demonstrated experience in integrating academic theory with industry applications to enhance student learning.
- Extensive expertise in airport and airline operations, with demonstrated experience in airside and landside management, terminal operations, ground handling, flight dispatch, airline management, and regulatory compliance, ensuring students gain a practical understanding of real-world aviation challenges.
- Proficiency in e-learning, digital instruction, and simulation-based training, with experience using Blackboard, MS Teams, and aviation simulation tools to deliver engaging coursework.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain strong industry connections, fostering internship opportunities, guest lectures, and strategic partnerships with airlines, airports, and aviation regulators.
- Proven experience in academic program development, contributing to curriculum design, course enhancements, and continuous improvement initiatives that align with industry standards.
- Exceptional communication and mentorship skills, with a multilingual ability to guide students and collaborate effectively in culturally diverse academic and professional environments.
- Experience overseeing activities for an IATA Authorized Training Center, collaborating with the Global Partnerships Manager to take executive decisions on course scheduling, student engagement, and industry collaboration, ensuring alignment with professional aviation standards.
- Strong record of publication and scholarship.
- Extensive knowledge of university academic systems and operations, with a track record of streamlining processes, enhancing program delivery, and improving student engagement.
