We are an engineering firm that specializes in providing elegant engineering solutions for complex challenges. e.construct is a fast-growing firm with 7 offices around the world. At our core, we question how the very nature of how to evolve the structures that we inhabit to increase their performance and value.

we design structures such as bridges, high-rise design, precast concrete engineering and post-tensioning design. The firm's core work is structural engineering; however, e.construct is increasingly holistic at its approach to buildings and it has divisions in MEP, Geotechnical and emerging construction technology such as 3D printing of concrete, technology and 3D laser scanning.

VAES.ai

We are a tech startup that is being incubated in the technology lab of e.construct and we employ technology to empower and eventually transform engineering. VAES's mission is to reduce the amount of raw materials we design in our buildings and bridges by using optimization algorithms and machine learning.

VAES consists of a team of software developers, civil engineers, machine learning experts, architects and graphic designers that builds tools that engineers can use to design and manufacture the next generation of cities.

About The Role

We are looking for a Visual Communicator who is passionate about the intersection of design, communication, and knowledge. A method (design); an objective (communication); and a medium (vision).

Working on the interpretation, organization, and visual presentation of messages; attention toward form and style should go hand in hand with attention toward content. Beyond aesthetic appeal, this role has to work with the planning and structuring, production, and evaluation of communications.

Responsibilities:

• Working closely with our Project Managers, Designers and Researchers, you will be working on:
• Visuals that communicate clear ideas and concepts for multiple mediums such as, websites, brochures, presentations, illustrations & diagrams etc
• Strong and well-structured story flows for project case studies
• Assisting in assets for client pitches and other supporting presentations
• Contributing to team brainstorming sessions and providing innovative design ideas and solutions for visual assets and storytelling
• Provide well thought out solutions for challenging problems and the ability to back up design decisions with logical reasoning
• Staying updated with visual design trends, tools, and techniques to continuously improve visual design quality and efficiency
  
  

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Visual Communication or a related design field
• Foundational understanding of UI/UX
• Ability to develop dimensional illustrations
• Emphasis on prioritizing functionality over aesthetics in design thinking
• Ability to understand the key story and use visual hierarchy to elaborate
• Ability to ideate and iterate design concepts and solutions
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Detail orientated
• Ability to work methodically and meet deadlines
  
  

Software Proficiency Skills:

• Design software: InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop
• UI-UX software: Figma or equivalent
• Microsoft Software: PowerPoint, Word, Excel etc
• Bonus skills: 3D modeling software skills: Sketchup, Revit, or equivalent
