Job Description

Vice President – Accounts

Global Aerospace Logistics (GAL) is seeking a Vice President – Accounts to lead its accounting and financial governance function. This is a senior leadership role responsible for accounting, consolidation, financial reporting, and strategic finance support, ensuring compliance with IFRS and UAE regulatory standards while enabling strong business decision‑making.

Role Overview

As VP Accounts, you will serve as the primary authority for accounting and financial integrity, partnering closely with the CFO to shape and execute financial strategies. You will lead the accounting function, ensure accurate and timely reporting, and provide insight to support cash flow management and overall business strategy.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy & Leadership

  • Support the CFO in developing and executing finance strategies aligned with corporate objectives
  • Lead, coach, and develop the accounting team to achieve departmental and organizational goals
  • Cascade finance strategy across the department to ensure alignment and execution

Accounting & Financial Governance

  • Oversee general ledger, accounts payable, and payroll functions
  • Lead month‑end and year‑end close, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance
  • Ensure adherence to IFRS, UAE fiscal regulations, and internal financial controls

Financial Reporting & Analysis

  • Deliver accurate financial reports for management and statutory purposes
  • Analyze financial performance, identify risks, and report insights to the CFO
  • Lead monthly financial reviews with senior management
  • Drive continuous improvement in financial reporting systems, processes, and metrics

Policies, Systems & Process Improvement

  • Develop and implement finance policies, procedures, and systems
  • Strengthen controls, improve efficiency, and support finance digitalization initiatives

Stakeholder Management

  • Act as a key point of contact with external auditors, banks, regulators, and internal stakeholders
  • Ensure transparent and effective communication across all levels

Qualifications & Experience

Education & Certification

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
  • Master's degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred
  • Professionally qualified accountant (CPA, ACCA, or equivalent)

Experience

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in accounting and finance
  • 3+ years in a Finance Manager or senior leadership role managing finance teams
  • Experience working with external auditors and senior stakeholders
  • Industry experience is an advantage
