Role Purpose
This role is the strategic financial partner to the commercial heart of the Group. The VP of FP & Controlling will lead group-wide planning, forecasting, and performance management, with a critical mandate to drive improved profitability and inventory productivity. This leader will own the merchandise financial planning process, providing the analytical rigour to reverse recent margin erosion and support a profitable international growth strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Group FP&A Leadership: Lead the group's annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and long-range strategic planning processes, ensuring alignment between financial targets and operational realities.
- Commercial Business Partnership: Act as a key strategic partner to the Product, Buying, and Supply Chain teams, providing robust financial analysis to drive profitable range architecture, manage the open-to-buy process, and optimise category performance.
- Performance Management & Insights: Deliver clear, actionable insights on business performance to the CFO, CEO, and executive leadership team, with a focus on the key drivers of sales, margin, and inventory.
- Channel Profitability: Develop a robust framework for analysing and driving profitability across all channels (Retail, E-commerce, Marketplace), with an urgent focus on understanding and addressing the recent decline in the marketplace channel.
- Scalable Frameworks: Build scalable, best-in-class planning and reporting frameworks to support rapid international expansion and ensure a single source of truth for decision-making.
Ideal Profile
- Commercial Finance Leader: A VP or Senior Director-level FP&A leader from a fast-fashion or consumer goods business with a deep understanding of merchandise-led P&Ls.
- Inventory & Margin Expert: Demonstrable experience in managing inventory productivity, optimising markdowns, and driving margin enhancement is essential.
- Data-Driven & Commercial: A commercial mindset with the ability to translate complex data into actionable strategies, challenge assumptions, and drive financial outcomes.
- Influential Partner: Proven ability to operate as a credible and influential partner to senior commercial and operational leaders in a fast-moving, complex organisation.
