Job Description

About Pulse Hotels & Resorts

Pulse Hotels & Resorts is a global hospitality development company with a difference. Creators of extraordinary experiences, we use commercial and innovative thinking to develop hotels, resorts, and real estate projects that inspire, delight, and are intelligently designed. By building genuine connections with our people, guests, owners, and clients, Pulse stays closely attuned to the industry to deliver world-class concepts and forward-thinking brands. Pulse currently manages multiple high-end resorts, residences, and real estate developments across the Maldives — including Kandima Maldives, The Nautilus Maldives, Nova Maldives, and Eri Maldives — with an ambitious two new properties, Coral Residences and AU:RA Maldives set to open in 2026.

VP of Marketing Opportunity

This is a rare executive-level opportunity to own and shape the marketing vision of one of the Indian Ocean's most dynamic hospitality groups. As VP of Marketing, you will be the brand guardian and strategic marketing leader across the entire Pulse portfolio — from group brand architecture to individual resort identity, from PR and content to digital presence and guest experience.

This role demands someone who deeply understands the hospitality industry — its seasonality, its ultra-high-net-worth guest dynamics, the nuances of luxury resort marketing, the role of travel agents and GDS channels, and the art of building emotional brand equity in a market where every competitor promises paradise. You will bring the instinct of a brand builder and the precision of a data-driven strategist, leading a growing marketing organisation across multiple resorts and markets.

Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, this role is based in Dubai and plays a central part in shaping Pulse's future.

Key Responsibilities

Brand Strategy & Positioning

  • Develop and own the overarching Pulse brand strategy as well as the distinct brand architecture for each sub-brand property — ensuring every resort has a clear, differentiated, and emotionally compelling identity.
  • Lead brand architecture initiatives including product positioning, messaging frameworks, and CID (Corporate Identity Design) guidelines across the portfolio.
  • Commission and leverage market research, consumer segmentation, and competitive intelligence to guide brand evolution and positioning decisions.
  • Ensure brand consistency across all corporate, marketing, and guest-facing touchpoints, from pre-arrival communications to on-property experience.
  • Conduct regular guest journey audits across the Pulse portfolio and report findings to the executive leadership team.

Marketing Leadership & Team Development

  • Build, lead, and inspire a high-performing Pulse corporate marketing team, cultivating a culture of creativity, accountability, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Provide vision, coaching, and mentorship across the Pulse marketing organisation, including the Marketing Communications Leads embedded at each resort property.
  • Set annual marketing goals and KPIs aligned with group strategy, individual brand positioning, and revenue targets.
  • Support each resort in marketing budgeting, planning, and performance measurement; ensure resources are deployed efficiently and strategically.
  • Collaborate closely with Operations, Commercial Development, and Sales to drive integrated growth initiatives across the portfolio.
  • Partner with HR and L&D teams to embed brand values, culture, and guest-centric thinking throughout the organisation.

Brand Marketing & Communications

  • Own the brand marketing roadmap: campaign planning, content strategy, creative direction, and multi-channel brand storytelling.
  • Oversee public relations, thought leadership, brand partnerships, and influencer strategy to drive awareness and authority in target markets.
  • Lead high-impact PR campaigns tied to sustainability, in close collaboration with the Head of Sustainability.
  • Co-develop advertising campaigns across digital and traditional channels in partnership with the Chief Commercial Officer.
  • Uphold a consistent brand tone of voice and creative quality across all materials; review and coach the in-house Design & Content Creation team.

Digital Marketing & Guest Experience

  • Oversee the group's digital brand presence including website experience, social media, SEO/SEM, and performance marketing — in coordination with the CCO and specialist e-commerce and digital marketing teams.
  • Ensure a seamless and cohesive guest journey across all online and offline touchpoints, from discovery through post-stay engagement.
  • Drive adoption of analytics and data-driven insights to continuously optimise brand engagement, campaign effectiveness, and market reach.

Innovation, Growth & New Property Development

  • Identify and act on emerging market trends, evolving guest behaviours, and new technologies to keep the Pulse brand ahead of the curve.
  • Develop compelling brand concepts and identities for new Pulse properties in-house, ensuring strategic cohesion across the growing portfolio.
  • Champion bold, modern approaches to brand storytelling and guest engagement that set Pulse apart in the ultra-competitive luxury resort market.
  • Drive brand expansion into new markets, source markets, and distribution channels.

What We're Looking For

Essential Experience

  • 10+ years of progressive marketing experience, with a significant portion in senior brand marketing leadership roles.
  • Proven, hands-on background in luxury hospitality, resort, or hotel marketing — with a genuine understanding of the resort business model, including seasonality, occupancy dynamics, UHNW and aspirational traveller segments, and the role of key feeder markets.
  • Demonstrated expertise in multi-property or portfolio brand management, including brand architecture and sub-brand strategy.
  • Proven track record in developing integrated marketing strategies that combine brand, digital, PR, content, and commercial objectives.
  • Experience managing creative teams, external agencies, and significant marketing budgets across multiple markets and time zones.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience marketing Maldives or Indian Ocean resort destinations is a strong advantage.
  • Background in launching or repositioning hospitality brands in competitive international markets.
  • Exposure to sustainability-led brand narratives and ESG-integrated marketing in the hospitality sector.
  • Prior experience working within a multi-brand hospitality group or hotel management company.

Key Competencies

  • Strategic brand thinker with a strong operational mindset and the ability to execute with precision
  • Exceptional communicator and brand storyteller — persuasive at board level, inspiring to creative teams
  • Data-driven decision maker who can translate analytics into brand and campaign strategy
  • Creative leader with a high standard of design sensibility and brand taste
  • Collaborative and influential at the executive level across diverse stakeholder groups
  • Guest-centric at heart — with an instinctive understanding of luxury traveller expectations
  • Resilient, adaptable, and energised by a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment

Why Pulse

  • The creative and strategic freedom to build, evolve, and scale extraordinary hospitality brands.
  • A diverse, ambitious portfolio spanning lifestyle, ultra-luxury, and boutique resort categories.
  • A collaborative leadership culture that values bold ideas, smart execution, and genuine innovation.
  • Competitive executive remuneration package commensurate with experience and seniority.
  • The opportunity to shape how the world experiences one of the most coveted travel destinations on earth.
