Responsible for technical sales and specification support for VRF HVAC systems to architects, consulting engineers, contractors, and building owners. Combine technical system design expertise and commercial acumen to win projects, support bids, and drive revenue growth in assigned territory/market.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage sales pipeline for VRF solutions (new construction, retrofit, and replacement projects).
- Conduct site surveys and load calculations; prepare takeoffs, equipment schedules, and schematic system designs.
- Produce and deliver technical proposals, quotations, and value-based ROI analyses.
- Collaborate with design professionals to produce specifications and ensure correct integration with building systems (controls, ductwork, electrical).
- Provide product selection, system layouts, and Revit/CAD support to design teams and contractors.
- Lead pre-bid and pre-construction meetings; respond to RFIs and submittal requests.
- Coordinate with factory engineering, field service, and project management to ensure successful installations and start-ups.
- Provide product training and technical workshops for internal sales teams, reps, and customers.
- Track market trends, competitor activity, and identify new business opportunities.
- Meet or exceed sales targets and KPIs (orders booked, margin, pipeline growth, win rate).
Qualifications
- 2 to 5 years of technical sales, specification, or application engineering experience in HVAC systems; experience with VRF/VRV systems strongly preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
- Solid understanding of HVAC fundamentals: psychrometrics, load calculations, code compliance, and controls integration.
- Proficiency with load calculation tools (e.g., Manual J/D equivalents, HAP, TRACE) and experience with Revit/CAD is preferred.
- Strong presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to translate technical features into customer benefits and ROI.
