The VRF/VRV Technician is responsible for the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and installation of VRF/VRV air conditioning systems and associated HVAC equipment across client facilities. The role ensures systems operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company and client standards.
Your role
- Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance of VRF/VRV systems.
- Diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical, and control-related faults.
- Install, commission, and test VRF/VRV units and associated equipment.
- Perform refrigerant recovery, charging, leak testing, pressure testing, and vacuuming activities.
- Conduct routine inspections and performance checks on HVAC systems.
- Maintain indoor and outdoor units, controls, sensors, compressors, condensers, and evaporators.
- Read and interpret HVAC drawings, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Monitor equipment condition and recommend corrective actions to improve system reliability.
- Respond promptly to breakdowns and emergency maintenance requests.
- Complete maintenance reports, work orders, and equipment logs accurately.
- Ensure compliance with AtkinsRéalis HSE requirements and client safety procedures.
- Coordinate with supervisors, engineers, and other technical teams to ensure uninterrupted facility operations.
Educational Qualification
- Diploma / ITI / Technical Certification in HVAC, Refrigeration, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in HVAC maintenance.
- Hands-on experience with VRF/VRV systems in commercial, residential, hospitality, healthcare, or mixed-use facilities.
- GCC experience preferred.
- VRF/VRV installation and commissioning.
- HVAC preventive and corrective maintenance.
- Refrigeration cycle and refrigerant handling.
- Electrical troubleshooting.
- HVAC controls and BMS interface knowledge.
- Refrigerant leak detection and repair.
- Pipe brazing and insulation works.
- Reading technical drawings and schematics.
