Responsibilities
Guest Monitoring & Service: Oversee dining rooms for seating, service, safety, and guest well-being; address guest needs professionally and promptly.
Table & Condiment Preparation: Ensure tables are set with condiments, napkins, cutlery, and other essentials before service.
Stock & Side Station Management: Maintain side stations with supplies like napkins, cutlery, pens, slips, and credit card machine rolls.
Menu Assistance & Order Taking: Check availability of food and beverages, answer menu questions, take orders, and serve guests.
Communication with Kitchen: Post orders, note dietary requirements/allergies, and communicate special requests to the kitchen.
Meal Timing & Table Maintenance: Follow meal cycle time guidelines, clear tables, crumb properly, and prepare for the next course.
Cleanliness & Presentation: Inspect and polish chinaware, glassware, and silverware; maintain clean work areas using clean-as-you-go practices.
Professionalism & Policy Compliance: Arrive on time, maintain appearance, follow restaurant policies, and protect company assets and guest confidentiality.
Inventory & Storage Management: Inspect storage areas, maintain organization using FIFO, conduct inventories, and requisition supplies as needed.
Billing & Payment: Prepare accurate bills, present checks, and process payments honestly.
Guest Relations & Hospitality: Welcome guests warmly, acknowledge by name, show appreciation, and assist coworkers to ensure prompt service.
Physical Requirements: Lift/move objects up to 50 pounds, reach, bend, stand/walk long periods, and navigate varied surfaces safely.
Opening & Closing Duties: Complete pre-service setup and post-service closing, including cleaning, restocking, securing items, and handling cash floats.
Side Work & Reporting: Perform shift-specific side work, update daily reports, and ensure beverage items and equipment are properly secured.
Teamwork & Collaboration: Support coworkers, maintain respectful and productive relationships, and assist other departments as needed.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Formal training in hospitality, food & beverage service, or a related field is a plus.
Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or food service environment preferred.
Experience with POS systems, order processing, or handling cash is beneficial.
Experience in guest service or customer-facing roles.
Strong customer service and interpersonal skills; ability to handle guest inquiries professionally.
Knowledge of food and beverage menus, dietary restrictions, and allergy awareness.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively.
Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
