The Warehouse Manager oversees the efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of a wide range of goods. This role ensures that productivity targets are met, maintains inventory accuracy, and that all warehouse processes are carried out in a timely and cost-effectively. The Warehouse Manager also leads and motivates a team to ensure optimal performance and compliance with company policies and health and safety regulations.
Responsibilities:
Operations Management:
- Oversee daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, inventory management, and order fulfillment
- Ensure the timely and accurate processing of inbound and outbound shipments
- Develop and implement efficient warehouse processes and systems to improve productivity and accuracy
- Coordinate with other departments, such as procurement, sales, and logistics, to ensure seamless operations
Inventory Control:
- Maintain accurate inventory records and perform regular inventory counts and audits
- Manage stock control and reconcile with data storage systems to ensure inventory accuracy
- Implement measures to reduce stock discrepancies, prevent losses, and optimize inventory levels
Team Leadership:
- Recruit, train, supervise, and appraise warehouse staff, including assigning tasks and setting performance goals
- Lead and motivate the team to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly performance targets
- Foster a positive work environment, promoting teamwork and continuous improvement
Health and Safety Compliance:
- Ensure that the warehouse operates in compliance with health and safety regulations
- Implement and enforce safety procedures to reduce accidents and injuries
- Conduct regular safety audits and ensure that the warehouse environment is clean and organized

- Oversee the planning and scheduling of deliveries to ensure timely and efficient transportation
- Coordinate with external logistics providers to manage incoming and outgoing shipments
- Resolve any issues related to delays, damages, or discrepancies in shipments
Technology and Systems Management:
- Implement and manage warehouse management systems (WMS) and other relevant technology
- Ensure that all data entry is accurate and up to date within the system
- Stay informed on the latest industry trends and technology to enhance warehouse operations
Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field is preferred
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in warehouse management or a similar role, with a proven track record of successfully managing warehouse operations
Working Conditions:
- May require lifting heavy objects and working in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures
- Occasional overtime or weekend work may be necessary to meet operational demands
- Regular interaction with warehouse staff, vendors, and other departments
