Job Title: Wargaming Expert / SME (Military & Strategy)
Job Description
The Wargaming Expert will design, develop, and facilitate wargames, tabletop exercises (TTXs), and advanced simulations.
They are responsible for creating realistic scenarios that test strategies, assess risks, and improve decision-making under uncertainty for military or high-level corporate clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, planning, and execution of wargames (matrix, tabletop, computer-assisted) aligned with client objectives.
- Act as a facilitator or white cell member during gaming events, guiding participants through complex scenarios.
- Develop detailed, realistic scenarios, including threat modeling, adversary capabilities, and multi-domain operations (air, land, sea, space, cyber).
- Analyze wargame outcomes, develop After Action Reports (AARs), and provide insights to senior leadership regarding strategy, logistics, and operational risks.
- Provide subject matter expertise on military strategy, doctrine, and emerging trends to enhance game validity.
- Utilize computer-based wargaming software and virtual simulations.
Skills
- Deep knowledge of military tactics, strategy, and joint warfighting.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and facilitation skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, including public speaking/facilitation.
- Ability to obtain/maintain a security clearance (often required for DoD roles).
