Job Role
The Warranty & TAC Supervisor Body & Paint is responsible for leading and managing all warrantyrelated activities and technical support (TAC) functions within the Body & Paint Department. Acting as the quality expert and the voice of the customer, the supervisor ensures that warranty processes, technical diagnostics, and quality improvement actions are aligned with manufacturer standards.
This role oversees claim analysis, technical verification, documentation accuracy, and communication with manufacturing partners to enhance repair quality, reduce repeat failures, and ensure compliance across all Body & Paint operations.
Job Responsibilities
1. Warranty Analysis & Approval
- Review and supervise Body & Paint warranty claims including:
- paint defects, body panel issues, structural damages, corrosion claims, material failures, and refinish problems.
- Evaluate failure responsibility (workmanship vs. manufacturing defect).
- Approve repairs within authorization limits and escalate overlimit cases.
- Ensure accurate cost estimation for labor, materials, paint, and parts.
2. Technical Support (TAC) Body & Paint
- Provide technical guidance to workshop teams on:
- Paint analysis
- Repair procedures
- Equipment calibration
- OEM repair methods
- Support branches in diagnosing complex paint defects (e.g., peeling, blistering, color mismatch, orange peel).
- Offer TAC support for body structure and panel repairs to ensure safety and quality compliance.
3. Documentation & Compliance
- Ensure warranty documents (photos, job cards, paint sheets, mixing formulas, calibration reports) are complete and aligned with manufacturer policies.
- Implement all Body & Paint manufacturer policies, procedures, and service bulletins.
- Manage and update the SAP service catalog for Body & Paint jobs.
4. Quality Improvement & Reporting
- Analyze trends in body and paint warranty claims to identify root causes.
- Prepare technical reports for OEMs highlighting recurring defects and recommended improvements.
- Coordinate with production teams and manufacturers to address quality concerns.
5. Parts & Materials Control
- Supervises the storage and handling of replaced body panels, paint materials, and scrap items.
- Ensures material preservation until scrapping approval is completed.
- Participate in warranty and scrap committees when required.
6. CrossFunctional Support
- Provide coaching and guidance to body technicians and painters on warranty practices and documentation accuracy.
- Align workshop teams with OEM standards for paint repair cycles, preparation work, body alignment, and refinishing.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Automotive Engineering preferred)
Minimum Experience
- 24 years of experience in Body & Paint Warranty, TAC Support, or Aftersales operations
- Experience with automotive refinishing and body repair processes is a plus
Required Skills

- High computer proficiency (SAP experience is an advantage)
